(Hai Fe) - The Ministry of Health has announced that additional preparations will be able to be sold without a prescription outside the pharmacy.
The Ministry of Health informed Hai Pa News Corporation:
On Thursday 1/8/24, Health Minister Uriel Bosso signed the document expanding the pharmacist regulations, this after extensive staff work done in the Ministry of Health, which was approved this week by the Knesset's Health Committee on the expansion of the addendum to the pharmacist regulations, according to which the list of GSL (drugs for free sale) will be expanded ) and additional active substances will be included in the list of substances allowed for sale outside a pharmacy and not through a pharmacist. In addition, in relation to some of the substances already on the list, the various conditions were expanded, such as the concentration of the preparation allowed for sale.
This is good news for the public since the preparations containing these active ingredients are intended to provide an immediate and short-term response to various medical conditions, which can be easily identified by the patient himself, and he will be able to purchase them outside of a pharmacy. It is important to note that if the symptoms do not go away even when using these preparations, you should go and consult a pharmacist or doctor.
Among the new substances on the list - Omeprazole used to relieve heartburn, Penciclovir used to relieve cold sores, Loperamide Hydrochloride used to relieve diarrhea and more.
The decision will take effect immediately upon publication of the amendment to the regulations in the records.
Health Minister Uriel Bosso:
The expansion of the pharmacist regulations is important news for patients who will now be able to purchase preparations for immediate treatment and quick relief of a variety of medical conditions without the need to stand in line for the pharmacist at the pharmacy. This is another step in a series of moves that we are promoting at the Ministry of Health to make things easier for the citizens, while making sure that public health is preserved.
