Work has begun on the construction of new, multi-story protected spaces in the Neorim school complex in Kiryat Bialik. The construction project will give the students and the educational staff an additional sense of security. The new protected spaces, which are 50 square meters each, will be built over three floors. Normally, the spaces will be used as classrooms, offering a comfortable and pleasant learning environment. However, if necessary, the spaces will be used as safe shelters for students, teachers and school employees.
The construction at the Naorim school is being carried out as part of the project to close shelter gaps in the education system in Kiryat Bialik and joins the protected spaces whose construction is currently being completed at the construction school. Also in the builders school, 3 floors of multi-storey protected spaces were built, measuring 50 square meters each. The construction work in the builders school will be completed by the beginning of the next school year.
In recent weeks, the municipality has placed protected spaces in Dafna and Afek middle schools and in the high school, and in mid-August the last planned protected space will be placed in Dafna middle school, thus completing the reception project of the municipal education system in Kiryat Bialik.
The mayor of Kiryat Bialik, Eli Dukorski said:
We are proud to lead this important project, which will ensure the safety and security of our students even in times of emergency. The new protected spaces will be another layer in the school's defense system, and will allow us to continue to provide quality education in a safe and protective environment.
