(haipo) - The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Environmental Protection issue a notice to the traveling public and to the regional and local councils in the north of the country: Abnormal results were discovered in the water sampling conducted to examine the state of pollution in the streams in the area. According to the findings, the precautionary instructions must be followed and appropriate measures must be taken to ensure public safety.
Ministry of Health announcement:
In tests for bacteria in the samples taken on July 22, 2024, results were found in several streams in the north that exceed the recommendations of the Ministry of Health (400 fecal sounds in 100 ml) and indicate the presence of water pollution.
In view of these results, entering these streams may be dangerous until the obtained sampling results are normal and stable:
- Jordan - from the Lahavat Bashan bridge to the estuary of the Sea of Galilee.
- Zaki
- crusher.
- Hex pool
- Jilbon - Deborah Waterfall.
- El Al - the waterfall pool.
- Zalmon - a flour station and a carob pool.
The Ministry of Environmental Protection found no known source of pollution in the streams. Normally, sampling is done from a sample once every two weeks through Nature and Parks Authority inspectors, at fixed sampling points in the northern streams (in the Upper Galilee, the Golan, and the Western Galilee). The dots represent a waterfall, a pond or a section of a stream.
The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Environmental Protection continue sampling and monitoring and will update as needed.
In light of the security situation currently prevailing in the north of the country, the sampling plan in the northern streams has been reduced compared to the 2023 plan, and it does not include sampling in the streams or stream segments adjacent to the conflict line settlements in the Metula area, the Upper Galilee and the Western Galilee.
