The jellyfish in Bat Galim Reef
July 2024 and the jellyfish are still here, only now there are less of them, they haven't really left us since the winter.
The wandering wireworm came in great swarms. Apart from them, I met a few individuals of additional jellyfish at our Bat Galim reef during the month of June 2024 and some rare individuals from the end of 2023.
jellyfish A bouquet of Yam-Sufi flowers
The first is A bouquet of Yam-Sufi flowers (formerly Shorshanit Yam-Sofit). You can understand from the name that the beauty invades the Red Sea and looks like a bouquet of flowers. You will be happy to know that there are jellyfish that do not sting and this is one of them.

Lunar Medusa Four Arches
Another jellyfish I met and it's really rare - Lunar four arches (formerly Aurelia), small and with a weak burn.
The diameter of the bell is 30-10 cm. Its unique identification mark is four arches on its dome.

Crimson method jellyfish
Another rare jellyfish I met this year, Crimson method, a small jellyfish (diameter 10-5 cm). Its sting is very strong. It has long arms and is pink in color with brown dots.
Appears with us usually after big winter storms (November 2023).
glows at night in a process known as "bioluminescence".

Combing Nega sash
Another rare sighting was of Nega sash (formerly Belt of Venus).
A comb that looks like a wide and transparent ribbon, and can reach a length of up to one and a half meters. It feeds on plankton and you'll be happy to know that it doesn't sting either (December 2023).

The wandering filamentous jellyfish
And of course the wandering thread that refuses to leave and currently there are individual and small details of her. About a month ago (June 24), due to lack of attention, I got into a moderate one with the shoulder. It is possible that she is in the "market" by now and does not understand "who is this crazy woman" who entered her.
After our shock from the mutual encounter, I continued to swim and by the time I got out of the water I no longer felt anything. Although there was evidence on my shoulder for the unfortunate accident, I was no longer bothered.
So in case you are like me, you fly and enter in a jellyfish, just stay in the sea water as long as possible. It's the only solution that really works to get rid of the burning, I promise.
You are right, trying to stay in the sea water is the best solution.
Enriching article, thank you
Thanks for the exposure to the diverse world of jellyfish! Beautiful and mind-blowing photos!
Looks like you're swimming and taking pictures without balloons, just snorkeling, right?
