(haipo) - Parents of children attending "Nachshon" Kindergarten (boys and girls 4) on Stafin Street in Kiryat Haim, claim that yesterday (Wednesday 17/7/24), about two hours after they brought the children to kindergarten, around 10:00, they were called to come and pick up their children, that Due to fear that a mouse is roaming in the garden.
The next day (Thursday), when they brought the children to an alternative kindergarten that the Haifa Municipality made available to them, they were blinded, when they realized, according to them, that the condition of the kindergarten does not allow for activities for the children. Thus the parents were forced to take the children with them and not leave them in the kindergarten.

"Let's pick up the kids"
"On Wednesday, we received a message from one of the mothers to come pick up the children, it was around 10:00 a.m.," says one of the fathers. "There was a bad smell in the kindergarten, so it was suspected that there was a mouse in the kindergarten, or the carcass of a mouse, so the children and the nannies only stayed outside, in the yard of the kindergarten, and did not go inside. Then the parents came and collected the children, and there is no need to explain that this is not a simple matter , to leave everything in the middle of a work day and arrive."
"We didn't believe it"
The father continues: "The next day, the municipality of Haifa made available to us a replacement garden on Shitrit Street - the "Nectar" garden.
This morning (Thursday) when we arrived at the place with the children, we couldn't believe our eyes. The whole kindergarten was in a terrible mess, all the games and furniture were in the middle of the kindergarten, in piles... Bottom line, it was clear that there was no way to conduct a school day there, certainly when it comes to children."

turned around and left
"Some of the parents turned around and just went home with the children. Some stayed standing with the children, hoping to get answers... It seems that the kindergarten has been closed since the end of the school year.
I understand that the municipality is renovating the kindergarten, as it does at the end of the year, but wouldn't it make sense to check first, before sending the children to enter it? The parents are angry, it's really irrelevant."
"The boy cried because he wanted to stay"
There is no doubt that Kiryat Haim is Haifa's backyard. I actually think that as recently as yesterday it was possible to clean the original kindergarten and return the children there, or of course, to arrange and clean the replacement kindergarten. Just driving the kids and the parents crazy, besides the fact that these are working days.
The boy wanted to stay and cried, but I took him back home. With all the good will, it is not possible to carry out an activity in such a situation. When referring to a certain garden, the minimum is to check before. At this stage we don't know if Gan Nachshon will be in order soon and what we are supposed to do with the children in the future."
Haifa Municipality's response:
"Yesterday, the educational staff of the Nachshon Kindergarten reported a suspected unusual odor in the kindergarten. Following the report, teams from the municipality and the Neve Yosef Community Center arrived to find out the cause of the odor. During the inspection, a dead mouse was found in one of the corners of the garden. The mouse is gone and today the children returned to school in kindergarten and continued their routine activities."
