Maccabi Haifa continues with full vigor its preparations for the new 2024/25 playing season, and one of its preparations is that the midfielder, Eitan Azoulai, captain of the Israeli Olympic team, signed today (Sunday, 14/7/2024) with Maccabi Haifa for four seasons. As part of the transfer of Eitan to Maccabi Haifa, the player Maor Levy will move to play for the Maccabi Netanya team.
Eitan Azoulai, 22, was born in France and immigrated to Israel at the age of two. He grew up in Netanya and played in several youth teams, the last of which was Maccabi Petah Tikva, where he also advanced to the senior level. About two years ago he was sold to Maccabi Netanya. In total, Azoulay made 116 senior appearances, scoring seven goals in all competitions last season.
Azoulay, as mentioned, is the captain of Israel's Olympic team, which in the very next few days will make its way to participate in the Olympics, which will begin in Paris, France, as early as next Wednesday (24/7/2024).
Azoulai has played in the entire Israeli national team since he was a teenager and last year reached the record achievement of the Euro semi-finals with the young national team. Azoulay will join the team once he finishes his national mission at the Paris Olympics.
After the signing, Eitan Azoulai said:
This is great excitement. Everyone who plays in Israel knows how the Maccabi Haifa football club is the biggest in the country. The atmosphere here at the "Sami Ofer" stadium in Haifa is crazy and I'm already looking forward to playing here.
Gal Alberman, the professional director of Maccabi Haifa, said:
We would like to congratulate Eitan on joining the Maccabi Haifa football club. We have been following Eitan for a long time and are convinced that he will continue his progress graph in the green uniform. Eitan fits the team's style of play very well and we are sure that he will add a lot of talent, personal ability and will fit into the team's structure. We would like to wish Ethan success with the team at the Olympic Games in Paris, and after that an easy and quick integration into the club. Good luck and welcome Eitan Azoulai!
If Maccabi Haifa signs anti-Israel players and none of its players are in the war reserves
Time to close this group. Who and what do you play for anyway?
