(haipo) - Huge traffic jams, nerve-racking waiting, congestion, delays, nerves and above all - great helplessness. It seems that the suffering of the residents of the Ahuza neighborhood and the streets near Carmel Hospital and Horev Junction is not going to end soon. When they found themselves this morning (Sun. 14/7/24) trapped in their car for hours without being able to move.
Just last Monday (8/7/24) we reported in Hai Pa about huge traffic jams in this exact area. Of course, this is not a single time or an exceptional case, but a regular situation that repeats itself over and over again.
Residents of the Ahuza neighborhood, on the streets near Carmel Hospital and the Horev center, were horrified to find themselves this morning (Sun. 14/7/24), stuck (again!) in never-ending traffic jams, trapped in their cars for about an hour and a half, unable to move or escape the area in any way again!
A huge traffic jam or people who arrived in the area this morning (Sun. 14/7/24) in their car or by public transportation, report an unbearable wait in traffic jams. For about an hour and a half, drivers stood at the junction descending to Mapo in the direction of Carmel Hospital because of a truck blockage.
One of the residents of the area said to Lahi Pa: "The situation in Smolensk, Mafo and the other streets in the vicinity, is intolerable, and now, to our astonishment, we have seen that new signs have been hung announcing that there is already more construction on the way!".
A resident of Harofeh Street says: "It turns out that work is being done to open the road in the section in the square, at the end of Mapo Street towards the Carmel Hospital. Double trucks block the road and then get stuck when they try to enter Smolenskin, which, as you know, is a very narrow street."
The correspondence in the neighborhood WhatsApp group shows the enormous frustration and helplessness felt by the residents.
"It is incomprehensible why such works are not done at night, instead of disrupting the lives of the residents here every day!" Someone is writing.
"Why weren't we informed about these works? It's such a busy place anyway, and in the morning it's not at all reasonable," writes another resident.
From the neighborhood WhatsApp group:
Pruning?
Someone in the group suddenly writes that the reason for the whole unbearable situation is shrub pruning works near the Horev center.
"We are harassed every day, literally every day," says the resident of the area. "We have been suffering for such a long time from countless disruptions due to construction works and blocking trucks. This is illogical and unacceptable, everyone here is seething with anger."
Move to Carmel Hospital immediately
If they don't force the residents of Haifa to use public transportation with an emphasis on the Carmel seniors and the huge jeeps they buy, there will be disasters here every day. Fire engines, ambulances and police will get stuck in traffic jams and people will lose their property and their lives
See, you have been warned in advance, you are playing 'I didn't know'. Here you now know.
We urgently need to redeem the land from man. Waiting for the Messiah? Ha!
Have you seen what's going on in Smolensk? Every second house is impure. Tremendous load on infrastructures, congestion that cannot contain the traffic. Instead of approving one building at a time, they renovate them all together. Woe to those who urgently need to get to Bih. You wanted a pigeon, you also got the shit that swam on your head.
Palma go far. And what if we created a bottle that came from Kiryat Highway 22 and an entrance to the underground city and every 100 meters a traffic light for pedestrians. And that's because they want everyone to travel in tunnels. Where is Rosh Ha'er Yahav? Thinks we're stupid..Who took a bribe here?
what do you want. You elected a mayor for one term. He will not have to stand for election again. get used to it
what do you want?
Yona Yahav is renovating the city
Cheers to TMA 38 which is issued against the law based on the false statements of Mahdas of the local committee in the following days with the support of the legal advice of the local committee, for the purpose of covering the salaries of those who "come to work" in the municipality.
Institutional public delinquency in its full manifestation
Stop whining, with Tama 38 that everyone is promoting and the addition of thousands of cars in all the neighborhoods of the ridge
Everyone will stand in traffic for hours. Once in trucks, once in a breakdown in a vehicle waiting to be towed, once in a vehicle collecting prunings, once an ambulance stopped near a building.
Congest the roads non-stop and expect there to be no traffic jams?
The streets are narrow because they are filled on both sides with residents' cars and on the hospital island instead of those who come by public transportation. The municipality should be brave enough to cancel rows of parking lots
and create wide and double lanes instead of parking lots.
Then you will complain that there is nowhere to park the 3 vehicles for the family... and it is no longer anyone's problem but you.
And this is in addition to the disturbances of the bored on Saturdays
Want solutions?
You have to be serious and brave in making decisions.
Grumbling all day won't help
The roads there are narrow
Every 1000 residents park about 2500 cars in the public area
Are you surprised that a bus doesn't pass?????
Eliminate all parking along the axis
They demanded from the municipality to install a parking space nearby
For cars on floors..
If you walk 100 meters to the car, nothing will happen
But the hinge will be open
Both fast and secure.
immediately open an axis to road 4
When all the ridge neighborhoods will open another axis, no
There will be a rush to direct Horev.
If you don't do this, the situation will get worse
And you will continue to grumble and grumble, but nothing will change for the better.
That's exactly the point.
A populist municipality that surrendered to the residents and creates "parking lots" from roads that should be empty and with special lanes for public transportation, especially in a place served by a hospital.
There should be an emergency stop for buses and ambulances only!!
and flip rows of parking lots to produce it.
just what? The municipality is afraid of the residents in the area who will complain that there is no parking. So let them grow eggs and stop creating parking lots and tell the residents that this is their problem - those who do not have parking in the lot will not buy a car.
The pigeon is back. In his place, the residents disturb the gardeners and contractors. But all this was already in his previous terms. The man is simply abusing the residents. The main thing promised to get rid of the pigs within 90 days. have already passed. Resign! to you!
This is the price of living in Carmel and Horev and other places in Haifa. I left for Kiryat to be less in traffic, for developed public transportation, to not pay 2000 NIS in two months for property taxes.
For an unknown reason, Mapo Road was blocked from the exit from Carmel Hospital.
Also, one lane on the Horev/Pika center road was blocked due to landscaping works.
Every morning an annoying and frustrating nightmare. Nothing is done to alleviate shame
Pruning? Trim right up to the line of the road, so in a week it will be necessary to trim again. How do you not understand that something is wrong here?
Talk to Sharit Golan, chairman of the planning committee, you will surely find someone else to blame
Thanks for bringing up the topic
(a desperate resident of the neighborhood)
Since the fire in Carmel they wanted to open the doctor to Freud and they resisted and it's been a nightmare for more than 10 years. We left after 3 years because of this and only build towers without a diagnosis and the residents also didn't want to open any other way
I don't know where you live, but if you lived like me on Harofeh St., you would run away as long as you could if your plan came true. The nightmare today on Harofeh Street will be child's play compared to what is expected if we connect to Drech Freud. By the way, have you thought how Smolenskin St. will be able to accommodate all the vehicles on their way to Freud?
Yona, we didn't choose you for such chaos. We've had enough of your predecessor. Show leadership and instruct all concerned to work at night. So it will cost more, but isn't the peace of the residents more important?
In another four years, Anat Kalish will fix all of Haifa, wait patiently, there is no choice, dear friends
Everyone in the neighborhood pays thousands of shekels in property taxes! Where is the payoff??
hahahah those people who block roads sit in traffic
correct. Today I drove towards Horev and we got stuck in a huge traffic jam before the center of the intersection. It turned out that the reason was the closing of a lane towards the center of the intersection in order to perform pruning work on the traffic island. What stupidity to close a lane at a busy intersection in the middle of the day for pruning. It is impossible to do this in the evening when the intersection is less congested
Unbearable indeed. And beyond the daily disruption may also cost human lives, God forbid, during an emergency
Is it not possible to prune after 8 pm? Are you fond of daytime?
Just disrespecting the residents, and risking human life when the ambulances are stuck.
Maybe you don't want to invest in infrastructure with the thought of evacuating a massive construction that might start here...
When there was no construction work the traffic flowed without interruption, in the situation of huge trucks that load the streets there is no margin of error. Every little problem turns into huge traffic jams of hours. Pruning work turns into a mega-catastrophe, the opening of the Brank road and the restriction to one lane - suffocates the hospital. Multiple projects at the same time destroys the quality of our lives and leaves us trapped in the neighborhood.
You wrote accurately. It's a shame that you are not among the decision makers instead of the detached ones who sit in the municipality
I live on Harofeh Street, sometimes it takes about half an hour to leave the neighborhood and pass the Horev intersection.
All the Carmel neighborhoods are in continuous suffering for one reason
Non-religious construction, many constructions and constructions again.
what's new??????? It was always a mess to get to Carmel Hospital and parking immediately was an impossible task and now with the work that obviously needs to be done during the day, God forbid they do it at night. After all, we are empty to sleep and empty to disturb during the day. That's how it is in the state of Israel, lawlessness is rampant and they don't care about anything
Stop resisting connecting Harofeh Street with Freud..
Racial Haifa - resist and cry.
I don't know where you live, but if you lived like me on Harofeh St., you would run away as long as you could if your plan came true. The nightmare today on Harofeh Street will be child's play compared to what is expected if we connect to Drech Freud. By the way, did you think that Smolenskin St. would be able to accommodate all the vehicles on their way to Freud?
Connecting Harofeh Street to Freud will not solve the problem
but will create other problems
Blaumilch canal...
Smolenskin Street needs to be widened in the narrow places, even those who park crookedly, a bus can't pass, need to expropriate buildings, take down a row of buildings is also not good, there is a hospital there and you stand in traffic for at least an hour even without work just because of bad parking.
