The installation of solar installations to generate electricity has begun on 20 public buildings in Haifa
The Economic Society for Haifa announced Inbar as the winner of the tender to install 20 solar installations, using photovoltaic (PV) technology, on the roofs of educational institutions in the city to produce green energy.
Educational value of the project: Electronic screens will be placed in the schools to display the amount of electricity produced throughout the year
Yona Yahav: We think and act green, for proper utilization and improvement of the quality of life in Haifa.
The Economic Society for Haifa chose the company 'Amber Solar Energy' as the winner of the tender for the placement of photovoltaic cells (solar collectors), which will generate up to 1 megawatt of electricity per hour from sunlight on the roofs of urban buildings, an amount sufficient for the average consumption of about 200 households.
The tender, amounting to about 14 million NIS, which is one of the largest purchase tenders published in Israel, includes the construction of solar energy systems on about twenty roofs throughout the city. The buildings on which the systems will be built include schools, sports halls and public buildings, spread over an area the size of dozens of dunams. As part of the tender, the Haifa Economic Company will purchase the systems from Inbar, and will also purchase a full maintenance package for a period of three years. Inbar, the winning company, began the construction of the facilities of up to 50 kilowatts each on about 20 urban buildings that were selected after they were found suitable for the project. The installation of the solar facilities is expected to be completed during the month of June this year.
Haifa Mayor Yona Yahav: We think and act green, for proper utilization and improvement of the quality of life in Haifa. The CEO of the Haifa Economic Company Gal Peleg explains, "Placing the photovoltaic installations on the roofs of the municipal properties within the quota allocated for this by the Electric Company, allows the generation of income through the production of electricity and its sale at fixed rates to the Electric Company at a price 3.5 times higher than the consumption rate for 20 years. Adapting the roofs of the properties to the project This is an economic and profitable project and in fact in cooperation with the Haifa municipality we turned the roofs into properties Yields significant added value. In addition, the project has environmental benefits of producing green energy and preventing the emission of carbon dioxide into the air, alongside public values and increasing awareness of the environment, as it is applied to the roofs of schools throughout the city. Students will be able to learn and see up close how electricity is produced from solar energy , through LCD screens that will be placed in the schools and on which the electricity production data will be displayed throughout the year. In addition, you will provide Inbar Company provides training and information materials for students about the solar system, which will form an infrastructure for studying the topic of green energy in schools. The project will be an important landmark for the intelligent use of green energy and the preservation of the environment."
Inbar Solar Energy is a private company owned by P.K. Generators and Equipment Ltd. and one of the leading companies in Israel in the field of rooftop solar systems. To date, Inbar has built approximately 150 commercial photovoltaic systems on rooftops, with a total volume of approximately 7.5 megawatts, reflecting sales of approximately 100 million shekels and is One of the leading companies in the industry in Israel. In addition, Inbar is one of the first companies in Israel to receive conditional licenses for the construction of medium-sized facilities. So far, Inbar has submitted approximately 70 applications amounting to approximately 60 megawatts that were submitted to the Electricity Authority, as part of the regulation for medium-sized solar systems.
Shai Porat, CEO of Inbar Solar Energy: "Inbar has gained a lot of experience in the construction and operation of solar energy systems on roofs, and specializes in the engineering design of the systems so that they yield maximum yield. The cost of the project is approximately NIS 14 million." Porat adds: "We thank the Haifa Municipality and the Haifa Economic Company for the trust they have placed in us, and undertake to establish the systems as quickly and efficiently as possible, while maintaining the high standards we are known for."
