The young team "Fusion" from Neve Shanan in Haifa, which was established only six months ago, managed to conquer the competition stages in the Israel Championship in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and achieve impressive achievements. In the competition held on 27/6/24 in Petah Tikva. And all under the leadership of the renowned coach, three-time European champion and third place in the world, Shalu Ellenberg, the young athletes managed to bring honor to the city of Haifa and the State of Israel.
Impressive achievements in the competition
The team brought home five medals:
- 2 silver medals
- 1 bronze medal
- 2 places Wednesday
These achievements are particularly impressive, in light of the fact that the Fusion team was the youngest team in the competition, started its journey only six months ago and faced veteran competitors with highly experienced trainers.

The young stars of fusion
Yair Gottfried, 14 years old, training for only six months, won second place in the Israel Championship under 16, after winning two fights.
Semyon Kangon, 16 years old, training for three months, won third place under 18, after winning four fights.
Michael Racine, 16 years old, training for three months, won fourth place under 18, after winning three fights.
Avichai ben David, 14 years old, only training for a month, won fourth place under 16, after winning two fights.
These achievements are especially impressive in light of the fact that their competitors trained between one and three years. The achievement is amazing and indicates a bright future for the young athletes of Fusion.
Professional and systematic training
The Fusion group trains using a training method that combines Brazilian jiu-jitsu techniques with stability training, explosive strength, cardiopulmonary endurance and combat tactics. The technique is the main part of the sport, and the fight itself is similar to a mind game with the body, where the competitors have to anticipate the opponent's moves and capture him in a comfortable position.
A vision for the future
Shalu Ellenberg, the head coach of the team, promises to continue developing the young athletes, and believes that the team will bring a lot more pride to the city of Haifa and the State of Israel. "I feel an obligation to produce champions and send them to represent Israel and raise the flag all over the world," he says.

Very nice. The wave of honor
