We are on the map: the Haifa flyers brought great honor at the Israel Acrobatics Championship

In the shadow of the difficult and ongoing war for 9 months now, the "Haifa Flying" team under the management and leadership of the Gershgorn Foundation continues to make us happy and bring us once again a huge and tremendous Haifa and national honor when it finished last week (2-3/7/2024) at the "Totu Hall" in Holon the Israel Acrobatics Championship 2024 with 9 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze medals. The team also set an all-time Haifa record. 9 teams competed for the criteria for the World Acrobatics Championship in the international ranks. 

Meanwhile, it should be noted that 6 teams will travel very soon to represent the State of Israel and the city of Haifa at the World Acrobatics Championship to be held in Guimaras, Portugal this coming September.  

The list of winners of the competition medals was long below: Senior rank - Yel Felix and Yuval Sasson - a pair of boys won the gold medal, Maya Welner and Roni Cohen - a pair of girls won the silver medal, Uri Dekal Roni Rothman and Sion Gerber - a trio of gold medals. While in the junior class - bronze Abir Deutsch and Roni Teller - a pair of girls won a gold medal, Amit Shariki and Chen Benoz - a mixed pair won the bronze medal. 

In the 12-18 grade - Gal Harel and Gilad Sheiner - a pair of boys won the gold medal, Moriah Berkowitz and Oren Bar Yosef a mixed pair won the gold medal.

In the 11-16 grade - Keren Roinsky and Shelo Habshush mixed pair won the gold medal, Tali Bardsky and Uri Cohen - girls' pair won the gold medal.

In the national ranks, the winners were as follows: Masha Levin, Mia Steifman and Noya Hadar - three rank 4 won the gold medal, Victoria Brock, Reot Shalu and Yuval Shahar - three rank 4 won the silver medal, Arbel Berkowitz and Yonatan Weizman - rank 3 mixed pair won the gold medal, Yonatan Shechner and Yair Oz - a pair of boys grade 3 won the gold medal, Maya Cohen and Sion Stein - a pair of girls grade 2 - won the bronze medal.

At the end of the competitions, Keren Gershgoran, manager of the "Haifa Flying" team, said:

"Precisely in the difficult days of war and in these difficult and challenging days, I am full of enormous and tremendous pride, I am proud of my athletes for all their hard work and boundless dedication, which brought us joy even in this situation. I am proud of all our talented and dedicated coaching staff and thank all the members of the athletes' families And the athletes for the long and endless support that is not at all taken for granted. Thanks to the gymnastics association that always pushes us forward and always believes in us, a huge thank you to everyone, our athletes are our future generation in Haifa and I am sure that they will march us and represent us with great honor on the map even beyond the city of Haifa and the State of Israel And they will also reach greatness in international competitions and championships very soon."
