From Thursday 4/7/24 until Friday 12/7/2024, between the hours of 8:00 - 20:00, the Mishkan for the Arts named after Dr. Reuven Hecht at the University of Haifa will present final exhibitions of master's degree graduates in art.
Prominent among them is the exhibition "The NOVA Project - The NOVA Party on October 7" by Or Fainero - a young Haifa artist. Laor Finero has a personal connection to the subject of the exhibition. He participated in several parties of the "Nova Tribe" - a community, established at the beginning of 2021, and based on the values of freedom, movement, giving, and love for trance music - and knew some of the victims of October 7. As we know, the dimensions of the disaster are unfathomable - 364 murdered, 40 kidnapped and hundreds injured physically and mentally.
While working on the paintings Or collected testimonies from the party participants, and it is evident from the works that he went through a process of internalizing the horror and identifying with the victims. A series of small portraits, and several large group paintings express both sides of the trauma - personal and collective - of his contemporaries. The paintings in oil paint and acrylic paint are characterized by intense colors. The faces are contorted with pain, the mouths are open in a scream, the eyes are torn from the horror of what they saw, the eye sockets scream wild, psychedelic colors. Every stroke of a brush, mixing the paint and placing it on the canvas
Contribute to the design of the sense of destruction.
The young people don't look like that, they are ageless, and maybe we even got old all at once - lost the end of youth, lost their dear friends, emptied themselves of hopes for the future.
The video work, in which you see on a split screen the rapid movement of feet, the trampling of dry grasses, accompanied by a soundtrack of tension, terror, high pitched sounds and screams, simulates an experienced continuous without limit.
In the painting, which hangs at the front of the exhibition, in front of the elevator, which meets the visitors to the exhibition space, I imagine seeing a self-portrait of the artist.
Or Fainro's works express the pain and the fracture in the ever-expanding circles of the individual, of the family, of the "Nova Tribe" youth, of all generations. Each observer is dealing with his memories of Black Sabbath, and we are all partners in the collective disaster. Art unites, reminds, and even
clinic.
Eyal,
This political correspondence is not related to the exhibition "Project NOVA" by Or Fainero.
Haifa University
The university has always been there
The first Arabic in the State of Israel
Remember Gideon Spiran
And now the disgrace is already visible
In front of all…
There is no shame.
The Arab citizens of Israel have an equal right to receive higher education.
Education makes everyone better citizens, more enlightened, more moderate in their political-social views.
Hagit Bat Eliezer the extreme left in the Carmel Ridge will continue to close his eyes
Until you get a kidnapping and a massacre here too, you will continue to close your eyes to the incitement and radicalization
which incubate in the Arab cells at the University of Haifa. Keep closing your eyes tightly.
"The two faces of pain.."? At 7.10 there was only one party that was affected. The fact that Haifa University / Bir Zeit gives development here to all the terrorists who study and teach there. That's another matter!
the whipper, dear,
Read carefully, please.
In the article there is a detail of the two faces of the pain: the personal and the group,
And both of the same side, which was hurt - the Israeli.
Harfa University allows students who support Hamas who expressed support and joy over the 7.10/XNUMX massacre to continue studying and receive a degree from it.
In this decision it lost legitimacy - no fig leaf will cover the letters of support of dozens of lecturers in defense of students who support terrorism and the Mossad's decision to return them under political pressure.
