(Hai Fe) - When you go to choose sunglasses, you should pay attention that they meet some very important criteria, which we will mention here.
The Ministry of Health informed Hai Pa News Corporation:
With all due respect to the destructive look, there are things that are more important to check when choosing sunglasses.
In honor of Sunglasses Day, here are the criteria you should look for in your next purchase:
- UV400 marking - this is the accepted standard for sun lenses that protect 100% of UVA and UVB radiation. This label guarantees maximum protection against harmful radiation.
- UVA radiation - penetrates deep into the eye. So prolonged exposure can cause damage to the retina and the intraocular lens, which increases the risk of developing cataracts.
- UVB radiation - is considered more harmful, and prolonged exposure will also increase the risk of cataracts as well as damage to the front surface of the eye, such as the cornea.
- Coding with a CE number - European glasses or glasses that pass a European standard, will contain a CE code indicating that they meet the required health and safety standards.
- The weakening category - higher levels (3 and above) are more suitable for a strong sun. Category 3 and above is recommended for strong sun.
- Lenses without cracks or manufacturing defects - check that there are no defects that could affect protection against radiation.
- Polarized sun lenses are lenses that block UV but significantly improve the perception of contrast, colors and depth vision, by filtering light coming from different directions that allows clearer and more comfortable vision.
Sunglasses are not just a fashion accessory. They are the "iron dome" of the eyes against solar radiation and therefore an important protective tool for the health of our eyes in the long term.
