(haipo) - We almost stopped believing, but after a long wait and countless postponements - this morning (Sun. 30/6/24) Talpiot Market traders are going up to the renovated floor of Talpiot Market.
At the end of a comprehensive restoration process carried out on the entrance floor of the building, this morning (Sunday 30/6/24) the merchants of the Talpiot market building began to move their activities from the lower floor (1-), to the renovated entrance floor.
Now, with the transition, the entrance floor of the market building will be accessible to the general public for the first time.
During the last few months, the entrance floor of the Talpiot market building underwent an extensive restoration process.
recycle
This morning, the customers of the market received reusable recycling bags to be used in their shopping, and according to the municipality, this is a first step in increasing the recycling activity in the place, as soon the municipality is planning to place carton collection containers in the vicinity of the market, in order to recycle them.

During the merchants' transition to the entrance floor, the following traffic changes will apply in the vicinity of the market structure:
• Sirkin Street, in its lower part next to the market building, will be one-way.
• No parking will be allowed in front of the market building (Sirkin Street 35), in order to allow the free passage of mechanical equipment and tools required to make the transition. Directional signs will be installed in favor of the island of the complex.

As part of the move to restore the entrance floor, work was first carried out to strengthen the skeleton of the entire building, in order to bring it up to date with the latest safety standards. In this framework, strengthening and sealing works were carried out in the building, and the electrical, lighting, communication and fire extinguishing systems were replaced with new systems. In the meantime, work on accessibility to the general public was completed on the entrance floor, as well as drainage and electrical work, which were required to accommodate the stalls and shops, which will henceforth be used by the merchants until the restoration of the lower floor is completed and its renewed operation as an active market.
The restoration of the historic building is being carried out as part of a strategic plan for the restoration of the entire complex, which includes the open market and Sirkin Street, which in the past year has become a focal point for restaurants and eateries, attracting a large and diverse crowd to the area. In the renewal of the building, as well as in the renewal of the entire complex, which will be carried out later, emphasis is placed on authentic preservation, faithful to the architectural original. In this way, the uses will also be adjusted in the future to the original nature of the building and its physical and social environment, as a local market and as a place for holding diverse cultural events.
My grandfather was one of the founders of the market...he was a merchant, but in the market there was a bastioner who sold live poultry, he worked with his young son and later with his great grandson, in today's market...one of the old bastioners remembers my grandfather.

Is this how you manage a renovation after 5 years? Is this what a renovated building looks like?
The main thing is that the municipality of Dankanarim and Ofarim businessmen is handing over the Bat Galim beach that they made sure to destroy and neglect
Another piece after piece - a shopping mall near the cable car, now a hotel wall and another huge building 20 meters high on Bat Galim beach
Haifa under the leadership of Khadli Ishim.
This mock "renovation" of the Talpiot market building clarifies the failed management in all areas
You are right in what you wrote. As usual, Haifa Municipality thinks small and instead of building a modern market with inviting stalls, with air conditioning and an experience for customers, they did a partial renovation with a concrete floor, columns covered with an ugly covering. The building is not properly painted and all kinds of fans are hanging from the ceilings. The market should adapt to the coming years and as it seems, it will be difficult to compete against the marketing chains and other food complexes that order and are air-conditioned with arranged parking lots.
Not on Jacob's olives!
Congratulations and good luck
You forgot just one small thing: to say thank you and give credit to Einat Klish who initiated and renovated the building in the 90th minute before it was destroyed due to neglect.
The fact that the transition itself happens after the end of her term does not change the facts.
Journalism not at its best.
It doesn't seem like the article was about giving credits, just stating facts
