The team of the Klalit Child Health Center in Emek HaShalom held a health event for children celebrating their 6th birthday
The Klalit team at the Children's Health Center in the Peace Valley in Ne'am, Haifa and Western Galilee district under the management of Dr. Orli Ben Or, celebrated their 50th birthday together with about 6 patients of the clinic, at a health event, in preparation for their entry into the first grade.
The nursing team under the direction of Anna Cohen together with a team of Tipat Halav nurses performed developmental tests and eye tests for the children.
Hani Shteymenz, clinical dietitian of Klalit, explained to the children and parents the importance of nutrition for growth and development and the meaning of preparing a healthy sandwich for school. In addition, she transferred an activity of the winning box: assembling a winning sandwich for the school lunch box. The participants received ideas for assembling a nutritionally balanced and healthy box and a take-home page on which they could plan together the meal they take to school every day.
Avital Tal Azoulai, RDH dentist from "Klelit Smile", explained to the children the importance of dental health, which foods are healthy for the body and teeth. She conveyed the information to the children through an interactive story, "The Story of Navon and Bina", which includes the child's private world. The story increases the knowledge and sense of responsibility that the child has for his health and how to make decisions on the matter.
Alan the medical clown The magician conducted a funny and entertaining activity for children and parents.
Anna Cohen, the director of nursing at the Children's Health Center, explains: "In events of this type, a health message can be conveyed to children in a fun way and thus it is better internalized by the children. Furthermore, these events are an opportunity to detect medical problems before entering school and treat them ahead of time." .
