A secret pit that never loses a drop

Our Rabbis mentioned in the Mishna Avot chapter 2 verse 8 - a metaphor for the figure of Rabbi Eliezer ben Harkanos - "a secret pit that does not lose a drop..." but apparently even then our sages saw the abilities of Dr. Eil Braun in their both literal and practical meaning - as a collector of knowledge on a level So impressive, he is likened to a well whitewashed and plastered cistern, so that the water is not swallowed up by its sides, and it does not lose a single drop of the totality of all the great knowledge that is in it.

Family

About three months after the Six Day War (1967) in which Israel fought against Egypt, Jordan and Syria - a fight that lasted six days, ended in Israel's victory, after which the territory of the country was roughly tripled - a ram was born in Haifa to the Brown family.

He was born to a holocaust survivor father, a neurologist and a librarian mother who lived in the heart of the Carmel center (Yitzhak Boulevard). Eyal has a twin brother and sister who are 3 years younger than him. Already as a child he was well acquainted with classical music, which his parents made him listen to and play a lot.

Childhood in Carmel

Eyal describes a childhood in a warm and established family when the three brothers of the family studied at the Raleigh school from the 1st grade to the 12th grade. According to him, even at that time the Raleigh School was a high-quality educational institution, leading and setting a path, which directs its students to become involved and influential people in Israeli society. He remembers and even praises the great privilege of being educated, especially in the high school classes, by excellent teachers who They opened for him the worlds of art, cinema, theater, literature and poetry.

In his childhood years, Eyal loved to play soccer. Today he is a fan of the "Hapoel Haifa" team whose home stadium is the Sami Ofer Stadium on the one hand and on the other hand he is also a fan of the "Liverpool" team which is the most successful English team and one of the best teams in the history of English football.

As a "good Carmel boy" he played the piano for almost 10 years, but according to him he is "really not talented in playing but in listening". In his teenage years, he got tired of the piano and often listened to rock music in general and the Beetles in particular.

Intelligence Corps and studies in the waiting year

Eyal did his military service in the Intelligence Corps among very, very talented people, who according to him "now hold key positions in industry, health and government". At the end of 88, he finished his regular service in the IDF - and immediately enrolled in medical studies.

During the time he was waiting to receive the formal approval for these studies - Eyal devoted his time to his self-development and classical music studies. He got to know this music in depth, he read a lot and listened to hundreds of works. It goes without saying that today the knowledge he has accumulated in this field is phenomenal, and it can even be said that there are few people who master this unique material as well as Dr. Brown.

Prof. Al-Rai - his light is radiant

In 1997, Dr. Eil Braun began working at the Rambam Hospital. In his medical specialty, he gained vast and extensive knowledge from Prof. Gideon ElRai - who was an internist, pulmonologist/pulmonary medicine and professor of internal medicine at the Technion Faculty of Medicine.

When Eyal talks about Prof. Al-Rai - his eyes are bright and shining. He goes on to tell about Gideon who was an extremely talented person, with integrity and great knowledge - far beyond the field of medicine. For him, it was a great privilege and pride to be under his baton. Eyal adds and says: "Prof. ElRai was, and always will be, my model in the field of medicine."

Administration and nurturing of the future generation

Apart from all this, Dr. Brown completed his master's degree in "Health Systems Management" at the University of Haifa, and last year he even completed his specialization in medical administration at the Rambam Hospital - so that today he divides his time between managing the Internal Medicine Department R. of the Internship Committee and his additional role in the management of the hospital.

Dr. Brown demonstrates great patriotism for his quarry. He says that Rambam Hospital is a meeting place of expertise, excellence, knowledge and research. In his opinion, the experience and skill that the hospital's doctors have accumulated over the years make Rambam Medical Center a fine institution that His name precedes him.

Dr. Brown deals with the recruitment of interns and the cultivation of the younger generation of doctors. According to him, the unique medical education concepts at this hospital and their bequeathing to the future generation are the key to the continued prosperity of the accumulated knowledge for the benefit of the target audience. Dr. Brown believes that the young doctors are an asset, and therefore investing in them is extremely important A lesson - this is because it is an investment in the future of the entire public.

A large and impressive sound system

When you open the door of Dr. Brown's residence, you see his kind eyes accompanied by a warm and caressing smile. Already in the entrance hall there is a feeling of an atmosphere of calmness, and a feeling of "this is a sympathetic and accommodating home".

Looking ahead, into the living space, a large and impressive sound system is visible. Dr. Brown has many occupations and hobbies, but as you know, the most respected hobby of all is listening to classical music.

Many works and different performances

With the help of the phenomenal knowledge he has gained in this field - Ile devotes long hours to listening to many works, and listening to different and diverse performances in the field of classical music.

Recently, he is a little disappointed that there are only 24 hours in a day - which, due to his many occupations, forced him to listen to music mainly only on weekends, and also in the evening when he returns from his demanding job.

Home and professional amplification system

The system is in the living room. This is a home-professional amplification system that consists of a row of speakers arranged one on top of the other and they are designed to spread sound over a large area, such a system contains different types of speakers each designed for a different distance, therefore they depend on the tower. As we know, usually in home-professional amplification systems there will be a separate speaker for each group of sound frequencies.

The split speaker system usually consists of three groups of speakers:

  • The lowest frequencies (called "woofers")
  • mid frequencies
  • Very high frequencies (called "tweeters")

At the Brown House - the music is heavenly

Indeed, in Dr. Brown's house, the harmony of the music - sounds heavenly, pure pleasure... this is especially because the amplification system is so excellent.

It goes without saying that in order to get the right effect it is desirable and recommended to listen to this link only and only... in an excellent and excellent audio system! The study room and CD library

Dr. Brown's study room is characterized by the correct selection of a table and chair adapted to create a comfortable and continuous work environment over time. In addition to these important conditions, there are several libraries in this room loaded with Bloom's treasure of CDs. The most impressive collection of classical music CDs allows one to indulge in the finest sounds, With the help of the sound system in the living room.

Another CD cabinet is also in the living room space. This collection is the basis for social gatherings, on the Arab theme of "listening to classical music and comparing performances", which are regularly held at Eyal's residence.

Restaurants and Culinary - the art of cooking and eating

In addition to the topic of classical music, Dr. Brown has other areas of interest and hobbies. Following his participation in many medical conferences in Israel and around the world - by necessity of this reality, the custom of eating in many different restaurants took root. For this topic, it is indeed appropriate to say "with the food comes the appetite". Over the years, Dr. R. Brown also had considerable knowledge in the culinary field, as well as a connoisseur's taste and palate.

The kitchen in Dr. Brown's residence is not a particularly active area... as Eyal has become a connoisseur in the field of cooking and is even an extremely gourmet. He has developed an ability and understanding of meals that have an emphasis on taste, appearance and smell.

Culinary is the art of cooking and eating, which is a subfield of gastronomy. Culinary began its journey when eating ceased to be a mere survival need and became a source of pleasure.

Eyal believes that in the last seven years the city of Haifa has become a culinary destination for all lovers of fine food, and today it serves as a challenging and enjoyable place for chefs, restaurateurs and the Haifa target audience, and even for those who come especially to the mountain city.

He adds and says that on the back of Mount Carmel as well as between the Hadar neighborhood and the Talfiot market and the lower city are the best restaurants that are a center of attraction for diners from all over the country.

Despite this, sometimes he also indulges his heart in Tel Aviv cuisine and especially in that overseas.

Thank you letter which is found online

Clarification and full disclosure: many times different doctors receive letters with thank you notes, this is a proper custom and accepted by satisfied patients.

It should be noted that about this emotional letter of thanks, which is found on the Internet and appears below - not a shred of information, sign or hint was said or given by Dr. Brown - as he is a humble, humble person and does not flaunt "what feathers he has" .

In 2019, Yitzhak Rubin (writer, director, producer and film screenwriter) writes a letter of thanks to Dr. Eil Brown, who saved his partner's life, in his column in the "Davar" newspaper. Rubin's letter is full of emotion, long and detailed - its summary and summary is:

First, Robin prefaces and elaborates: "The internal department is not a popular department" like the departments where open heart surgeries or brain surgeries are performed. This department does not benefit from medical tourism, and even the relative does not always know that the fate of their loved ones, for life or death, is saved in an internal department thanks to a smart and sophisticated diagnosis.

Internal wards lack glamour, the doctors lack aura, because these are wards with a lot of smells, and beds in the corridor... but in many cases, correct diagnosis and treatment by the medical staff in the ward, like Dr. Brown's, prevents suffering and saves lives. Dr. Brown, so Known to his colleagues, he is one of the greatest experts in infectious diseases."

Robin adds: "... Dr. Brown, you are the doctor who identified the parasite even before the laboratory tests that take ten days to identify the parasite that kills humans. You gave comprehensive care to my partner without waiting for the laboratory. In fact, this diagnosis saved my life, my dear... Thank you again, allow me to come for five minutes to thank you personally, and thanks also to the dedicated staff members."

Finally - Jacob Shabtai

In the field of prose literature, the novel that left a mark on Eyal's soul is Yaakov Shabtai's impressive book "Sof Devar", whose subject touches the field of man's decline at the end of his life. After the book "Memory of Devarim" and in the last years of his life, the author Yaakov Shabtai wrote the novel "Sof Devar", which was published only after the author's death.

The plot story deals with a man in the middle of his life, an engineer by profession, suffering from high blood pressure. Because of his illness, and together with the unexpected death of his mother, he feels and understands that his youth has passed and now his life is turning towards decay and death. Although the story is sometimes strange and sometimes funny and even frightening - it brings the reader to thoughts about the emotional and mental factors of a secular Israeli, towards reflections about miracles and redemption.

Peace and relaxation on the balcony

In the times after finishing his work, watching movies, plays and operas, listening to concerts, visiting exhibitions and museums and even practicing in the gym - Dr. Brown finds peace and relaxation by staying on the spacious balcony of his residence.

From here you can look out to the green mountain landscape and the blue sea, and on days with clear and good visibility you can even see the coastline as far as the Hadera chimneys. This is the place where you can relax and "sort out your thoughts", relax and allow a light landing in the race of contemporary reality and sometimes even let go a little of the flashes of "the troubles bundled in the bundle of life".

Peace, health and peace of mind

As a Haifa resident, Dr. Brown hopes to preserve the normality and good atmosphere in the city. According to him, despite certain cases of "squeaks" on the subject - the city of Haifa is a kind of nature reserve in terms of relations and tolerance between secular and religious, between Jews and Arabs.

He points out and details that the three hospitals in the city have a very high medical level, they are all staffed by men and women teams made up of a wide human spectrum and a mosaic of all parts of Israeli society.

Like most people and with a more normal outlook, Dr. Brown also connects to the verse "And I became sick and I was like one man" (Judges 7:XNUMX). Therefore, even as a senior physician, Eyal wishes for good health, peace of mind, continued activity and success on the personal and professional level, on the one hand, and on the other hand, a longing for true peace And peace and quiet on the national and political level.

And together they also perform voluntarily for a geriatric audience, the IDF wounded and the sick... All the best to Eyal Brown - there is no one like you!!!

  2. Amazing Eshkolot man. I used to regularly buy CDs and videotapes of Deutsche Grammophon with Kerian and the Berlin Philharmonic at the large pawn shop Kowalski on Hatzamtu Street and it drained my pockets mercilessly. Later, with the emergence of YouTube, the purchase of CDs began to fade. Dr. Eyal's CD libraries are reminiscent of those of Yoav Kutner and Natan Dunewitz.
