(live here) – A solidarity rally with the families of the abductees was held last night (Monday 3/6/24) in Kiryat Motzkin.
Hagai Angers father of the soldier Matan Angers:
"It is very complicated to be part of a family where one child is missing."
Motzkin Mayor Tsiki Avisher said at the rally: "On the seventh of October we suffered a severe defeat, one of the most severe we have known since the establishment of the state. 241 days after the outbreak of the war we hoped to be somewhere else but we are not there yet. The enemy in Gaza must be defeated, must meet the power of fire, the power of the wind and the power of our steel. Steel steel but How much can a person burn? How much can the families of the abductees burn, without any piece of information, without a loving look, without a hug?
It is time to retreat to a tactical slope and courageously advance the liberation of our children, women, men, and warriors from the tunnels of terror in the Gaza Strip. It is our duty to win a military victory over the daring enemy. A military victory in this campaign is critical to Israel's national security, but it should not come at the expense of testing our moral obligations to do everything in our power to return our sons and daughters home. A time for redemption and a time for victory.
I call on the Israeli government to do what is right at this time and that means doing everything to bring all the abductees home as soon as possible. This is our commitment as a society, as a state, as human beings, and we, the Jewish people, are committed to redeeming prisoners."
Hundreds of residents from the community of Kiryat Motzkin arrived last night at the city hall square to pay their respects and sympathize with the abductees who are held captive by Hamas.
The rally was organized by Michal Tovia, director of community relations in the Motzkin municipality. The residents of Motzkin participated in the rally, the family of the soldier Matan Angers who was kidnapped on October 7th and is still a prisoner of Hamas, the family of Keith Siegel who was kidnapped in Gaza who recently received from Hamas a video in which Keith broke down in front of the camera, Inbal Tamir, co-director of the abductees' headquarters in Kiryat Kobi Furman, director of the abductees' headquarters.
Hagai Angers father of the soldier Matan Angers: "It is very complicated to be part of a family where one child is missing. When you walk through the house and see an empty room. Uncertainty about his condition. What is he eating, what is he drinking? After so long the army has been fighting.
We hope that this time the Prime Minister will continue on the brave path and return Matan and all the other abductees who are in a state of severe deprivation. These are the citizens of Israel who need to return home soon and only with their return can we say together we will win. The tears of worry will turn into tears of hope that the people of Israel need these days."
