Haifa: Street hooligans have taken over Gan Binyamin Bahadar and are preventing parents and children from enjoying it

(haipo) - Two street children have established their residence in Gan Binyamin in Hadar in recent months. One arrived about 3 months ago and the other joined only a month ago.

A resident of the neighborhood told Lahi Pa:

"Gan Binyamin was a place where parents with children would come regularly. One of the homeless literally took over all the benches, there is no way to play here with the children. One of the homeless sits at the entrance to the municipal library. He sits and reads books.

My heart really hurts for him, I would really like to help him, to have a place for him to be. I contacted the municipality several times, just so that they would help, but I did not receive an answer. I checked with my neighbors, do they take the children to Kindergarten Binyamin, and they told me no, there is no possibility of playing with the children, when someone is lying on one of the benches and sleeping."

The two Der Rehov join Der Rehov, who settled in the Bat Galim neighborhood at the beginning of May. The street hawker found some beds, thrown in the street, and started sleeping in the gardens and on the street itself. According to the neighbors, he would walk around the street and between the houses partially clothed or almost naked, and children would run into him and get scared and he would defecate in the middle of the street and in the gardens. The residents on the one hand were disturbed by the disruption to their daily lives and on the other hand felt sorry for the guy and wanted to help him. The residents turned to the municipality and managed to move the street to a shelter.

Haifa Municipality: The issue is recognized and handled by the municipality's welfare services

The municipality stated in response that the matter is recognized and handled by the welfare services of the Haifa municipality:
"Immediately upon the arrival of the street children to the garden, social workers of the welfare director went to the place, in order to convince them to receive assistance and evacuate to sheltered housing operated by the municipality.

Treatment cannot be forced on a person, but the social workers continue to examine, with the help of the Municipal Enforcement Division and other professionals, every possible way in order to bring the street children to a shelter and remove them as quickly as possible from the street in general and from the kindergarten in particular."

  1. The welfare belongs to the municipality, so don't shirk responsibility for street theft. I personally help a man who is sleeping on the bench in Binyamin Garden. Cold water and food. The most basic. How can you see a hungry person without food and water and continue like that. Sleeping at home and not thinking about the other, even if he is from the minorities, does not interest me. He is first of all a human being. and does no harm to anyone. The neighbors burned down his house. They cut his electricity. Removed doors. and throw all the contents in the trash. When he came back from shopping he was horrified at the sight and no one was willing to help him. I come every day to take care of him. Even social security is harassing him and they don't give him K. the disability Because they require a psychiatrist to write that he is insane. Welfare intervened and wants to be his guardian. And rightfully so, he is not ready. He wants to be himself. and live with dignity. But they don't let him. They want to take over his allowance. And since then the National Insurance has stopped the disability payments. And he doesn't have anything and how to exist and he's young, judge for yourself

  2. A person like you who sleeps on a bench disturbs your children??? Does he scare you???
You are the biggest collection of hypocrites I have ever come across, you must be protesting for a green and smoke-free world where peace prevails between nations. You need to be ashamed if you have a shred of decency left in the very thought.
A person is a person even when he has a house to live in.

  3. This municipality only knows how to murder.
They started with the poor pigs, soon they will probably add street dogs to the final solution.

  4. Where did Yona Yahav say he would do things in grandeur again, fear God to walk around in grandeur full of drugged criminals instead of developing it like they did in the lower city I hope for more that he will indeed do it and it is not just idle talk in the air

  5. Maybe put these people in cages, like in a zoo, and people will come to watch them, it also generates income... Shame that's what's disturbing and not that they have nowhere to go.

  6. The same problem exists throughout the city with the alms collectors-street musicians,
that do not allow for a normal life in the residential apartments, next to which they place themselves with world-shaking amplifiers and instruments.

    • I love the street musicians and always try to give them money. If anything, I have a problem with those who cry loudly in the street, it's distressing.

  7. The issue has been transferred and the municipality is now handling this issue Michal. Thank you for the accurate coverage and have a good day.

  8. In my opinion, they are the best lesson for children.
Look here - life is not "black and white" - life can be diverse.
There are rich, there are poor, and there are those who play it who are rich and in debt because they want greener grass and like the neighbors.
They just don't know that the neighbors' grass is synthetic.

    • Right. when we moved here My children are the market of life. People asked me for weeks, why Oa sleeps on the street, why he doesn't have a home, and this was an opportunity to explain. They pitied and pitied him. I taught them to respect from afar, to pity but not to come close and not to speak. They learned to appreciate having a home. Objects and food.

  9. If there were any near the mayor or someone from the council, they would not have been there for a long time.
No pigs, no squatters, no crime, no nuisance

  10. And the other homeless man - what is he doing??? The sky is high!!!

Sitting at the entrance to the library - reading a book!
Oh, and a homeless man reads books!!!
He doesn't have a small screen to stick his small, homeless mind on.

    • Daganit - I really liked your "tickling".
      Hahaha champion.
      Right and true

  11. Keep them away as quickly as possible from the street and the garden in particular.

Does anyone besides me hear how ridiculous this sentence is?
Dr. Rehov is a person. Where do you want to take him away? It is in the public domain and does not violate public order.
    Wow, beautiful.
    Pigs are shot
People are being turned away for being homeless
Tomorrow I will not be good to you
Disgust of residents. And also to the co-op of this despicable newspaper

    • You're right, it can happen to anyone, one wrong decision, and you pay for the mistake.
These are human beings like everyone else, who can help
Please, whoever doesn't, don't make it hard on them.

  12. The response of the Welfare Department in Harfa Municipality:
The topic is familiar and like many topics, we don't care.
These days we are busy submitting a list of vehicle upgrades, wages, vacationers, standard increases and benefits from the taxpayers' money and the city budget for the welfare of the municipality's employees. So there are some homeless people,
OK, well, what do you want? We're just a municipality, not the Ministry of Social Affairs, everything is familiar to us, okay?
