An oak of longing / Dalit Kahana
Words: Orit Levev
Composer: Tova Porat, Dalit Kahana
I planted an oak on the edge of a desert
I set up a tent beside him
and a mat of peace
My retreat, close to the water of a river
I sent sounds
that know no boundaries
and every lonely and distant one I invited
to the tent to go up
far away
He will return to his family
And every wanderer will reach his home
A ship I sent to the unknown
I knew the mission of the soul
Described in the dark, full of mystery
But even better, it's good to sing thanks
From the words I sent
that know no boundaries
for every pain of longing,
I sang in the voice of the prayers
far away
He will return to his family
And every wanderer will reach his home
And every oak of longing
