Haifa Municipality has decided that for the coming school year two municipal kindergartens, the Fig Garden and Alon Garden at 10 Koresh Street, will be closed and the children will move to two other kindergartens - Shekh Garden (22 Shmuel Street) and Shibulim Garden (39 Golomb Street).
Two mothers of children in Kindergarten Tana (pre-compulsory and compulsory kindergarten) on the Koresh steps in Haifa near Leo Buck Elementary School, claim that the intention to close the kindergarten will greatly harm them and the children. They explain that the parents in the kindergarten are very satisfied with the way the kindergarten is run and also with the location of the kindergarten, and it is very difficult for them to accept that it will not be possible to continue in the beloved kindergarten.

Not enough registrants
"We were told that there is not enough enrollment for the next school year," says Zinaida, one of the mothers, "and therefore they are closing Gan Tana. The kindergarten is located above the Leo Bak school. When I immigrated to Israel in September 1996, I joined the Tana Kindergarten as a 6-year-old girl and in this kindergarten I learned Hebrew. It helped me a lot In grade XNUMX. Now my daughter is in kindergarten and we are very happy.
In the kindergarten, each child is treated individually. The kindergarteners report to us everything that happens with the children. There are many activities for children. Closing the kindergarten is really neglecting the children. If you go to the municipality's website, you can see that there is an option to register for the Fig Garden, even though we were informed that the garden is about to close.
Another advantage that the kindergarten has is that our kindergarten teachers know Hebrew and Russian, which is very convenient for the children, who are new immigrants. There are also many Russian-speaking children in the kindergarten, which is another advantage for the new immigrants. The municipality informed the kindergartens, that the garden is about to close, but we are doing everything to prevent this from happening.
I don't understand what will happen to all the children, if these kindergartens close. There is great anger among the parents. We are considering what to do so that this does not happen. There are no other gardens in our area. I don't have a car and a license, this is a very accessible garden for me. Many parents come to this kindergarten easily and are concerned about what will happen if the kindergarten closes."
Convenient location
Another mother of a child in kindergarten said today that it is easy to get to kindergarten by foot, and if the children move to kindergarten, it will be much more difficult to bring them to kindergarten in the morning.
"My son has two more in Kindergarten before first grade. It is possible to get to kindergarten by car or bus, but the street is one-way and very congested, and it is much easier to get there by walking. You cannot walk to Kindergarten. But what is even more problematic in my eyes is how far We and other parents are satisfied with the kindergarten. Every time there is the slightest difficulty with my son, the kindergarteners call and update me. The children love the kindergarten so much, and it hurts us to lose it." .
Haifa Municipality: "Tana Kindergarten will close due to a significant decrease in the number of kindergarten children in the Hadar Alyon area"
The municipality said in response: "The decision to open and close kindergartens is made according to the demand and only after receiving the registration data for all the kindergartens in the city, and that is what was done in this case as well. Due to a significant decrease in the number of kindergarten children in the Hadar Alyon area for the 39 school year, it was decided to consolidate kindergartens. The children enrolled in the Alon Kindergarten were placed in the Shibulim Kindergarten at 22 Golomb St., and the children enrolled in the Fig Kindergarten were placed in the Shih Kindergarten (which will operate next year as a compulsory kindergarten) at XNUMX Shmuel St.
The municipality of Haifa will be happy to reopen the kindergartens as the number of children increases and will allow this as we hope will happen. Later this week, all parents in the city will receive information about their children's placement. The telephone information center of the Education Administration is available for questions on the subject at the number 1-700-50-7002 Extension 1".
As the municipality responded correctly, one should say the number of children and not the amount of children.
So why does the reporter have to spoil it?
When Yona turns Haifa into sheltered housing and nursing homes, schools are closed and the ultra-Orthodox are transferred to community centers in Hadar, is it any wonder that more kindergartens are being closed?
The same story also in Edmoniya Garden in Ramot Remez
The municipality claims that there are not enough children registered and that next year they are closing the kindergarten, the only kindergarten in the neighborhood!
The kindergarten is in a school where most of the children have siblings, and in the morning the parents will have to split between 2 traffic jams of schools and kindergartens!
Just a dream!!
There is nothing to be done about this. Good and blessed week.
Did someone from the Ministry of Education in the municipality issue notices to all families with children of the relevant ages that the kindergartens that will be closed have plenty of space for children from all over Haifa?
It could be that a parent enrolled his child in a crowded kindergarten and could have chosen the less crowded kindergartens.
For the municipality, it prefers to keep overcrowded kindergartens instead of moving and finding more suitable solutions!
