(haipo) - The sea was rough in Haifa on Friday, 25/5/24. In the evening the waves rose to a height of about 150 cm and the currents were very strong. Around 21:00 an Israel Police helicopter was launched to search for a man who was missing in the sea. In the early morning hours, at first light, his body was located, which was washed ashore .

MDA informed Lahi Pa:

At 05:47 a report was received at MDA's 101 hotline in the Carmel area, about a body that had been ejected from the sea near Meridian Beach in Haifa. MDA paramedics reported a 50-year-old man with no signs of life and pronounced him dead.

MDA paramedic Charlotte Costi said:
"We saw a 50-year-old unconscious man on the beach, without breathing and without a pulse. People on the spot told us that citizens saw him floating in the water and called for help. The police brought him to the beach and all we had to do was determine his death."
