(I live here on public transport) - The transportation union in 'Power for the Workers' claims a violation of the terms of the agreement by the Superbus company and harm to the drivers: "Only three months ago we signed an agreement and here it is already being violated by the management" • Superbus: "The company is fulfilling the agreement in its entirety, which includes one of the best terms of employment in the economy. We are sorry that the organization chooses to act on the backs of the public transport passengers."
The transport union in 'Power for Workers' has announced in recent days (21/5/24) a labor dispute at the matron operated by the Superbus company. This means that in two weeks, if there is no change in the management's position, the workers will be able to disable the matron's activity.
According to the workers, they are protesting the violations of the collective agreement by the company, with the first being a violation of the workers' travel payments, which, according to them, is expressed in hundreds of shekels a month.
The Chairman of the Workers' Council, Talat Naarani, commented on the matter when he said:
"The ink has not yet dried on the signing of the agreement and the management is already trying to find ways to violate it - they decide to unilaterally change the payment for the trips to the driver without changing his place of residence. This especially affects drivers who come from a distance and who drive in splits - drivers who stop working during the day and bother returning to the shift and do not receive the compensation stipulated in the agreement," according to him.
The workers' committee further claims that the drivers receive humiliating treatment from the manager of the matron branch, as well as a blatant punishment without justification.
"unbearable atmosphere"
The atmosphere in the branch is unbearable," says Oren Tsadikian, another committee member. "The drivers face many loads and are unable to evacuate or refresh themselves. It is not possible for a driver who has been driving continuously for three hours and asks for a 2 minute break and the response is to punish him by removing him from the work arrangement! It is not possible for a driver who has returned from an illness and has a fixed schedule that was agreed upon in advance, to discover that his work schedule is different in response to his illness."
Other drivers report that they received a message via WhatsApp about a disciplinary fine they received, and when they asked for clarification on its nature, they were refused.
Tamar Zilberstein, trade union coordinator at the Workers' Transportation Union: "We call on the company's management to come to their senses and talk with the workers' leadership in order to go back and implement the collective agreement. The atmosphere of threats and punishment in the matron goes beyond what is acceptable in the labor relations at Superbus, only alienates drivers from the matron and hurts them, while they are kneeling under the burden".
The Superbus company responded:
"The extortionate appeal of the Kach Le Ovada organization to a labor dispute is puzzling, since only about three months ago a comprehensive collective agreement was signed and with it long-term salary benefits that the organization signed. Superbus fully upholds the agreement, which includes one of the best terms of employment in the economy. We are sorry that the organization chooses and tries to act on their backs of the public transport passengers, especially in these complex days.'
I left as a matron driver.
for several reasons . between them.
The driver must work on Saturday
In the week of morning arrangement work
7 consecutive days. And immediately continue the week
of evening 5 days ie 12 working days
It's hard and continuous to accept that you sat down to rest. Apart from that, tight arrangements do not have enough time to rest and refresh
It is very important that the matron drivers are satisfied and calm, we passengers feel it in their driving, when the driver is nervous I usually get off with a few more hemorrhages and strong backaches.
The management must take care of calm and satisfied drivers.
And maybe on this occasion I ask again that the seats be padded so that I don't feel like I'm galloping on a horse or, alternatively, to take care of fixing the potholes on the tracks.
Thanks.
Harsh employment conditions that include financial fines, the lowest of which is a deduction of 12 hours from the salary.. Penalties and demotion for any sick leave or complaint.. Replacing employees on a daily basis.. Layoffs of over 100 employees in the last year alone and arrangements of less than six hours and threats of inquiry and disciplinary talks
It is difficult for Owood to last there even in the difficult economic situation
There is no need for Shabbat on these days of Malhalma, Nirit
