The forces of a mission headquarters established by the commander of the Coastal District, Superintendent Danny Levy, in the Carmel Ridge sector yesterday uncovered a cache of weapons and ammunition intended for criminal purposes in Usafia.
Two Kalashnikov assault rifles, a sniper rifle, 9mm pistols, spray grenades, a stun grenade, a lot of ammunition and the suspect "Buggy Razor" SUV that was involved in a shooting incident, all of these were seized and 4 suspects were arrested and imprisoned.

As part of the struggle of Coastal District police officers against serious crimes in Arab society, family conflicts and the possession of illegal weapons by criminal elements, the officers of the Nesher station and a mission command force established in the district, together with the MGB fighters of the tactical unit, carried out proactive and focused activity to detect and thwart these crimes.

In the meantime, the police officers discovered in a building in Usafia two Kalashnikov assault rifles, a sniper rifle, 9 mm pistols, grenades, a stun grenade, a lot of ammunition and a "Buggy Razor" SUV suspected of being involved in a shooting incident in the sector last month, when according to the suspicion were intended to be used for criminal purposes.

As mentioned, the policemen foiled the incident and detained for questioning 4 suspects, residents of Usafia at the Nesher station, in the end they were imprisoned. The weapon and ammunition were seized and transferred to the police's forensics laboratory for further evidence extraction.
According to the needs of the investigation and its findings, the police will ask today (Sun. 19/5/24) to extend their detention in court.
