Illegal operation of a transit station and dumping of waste in open areas and forests constitute a significant environmental hazard and a potential source of fire outbreaks. The Green Police in the Ministry of Environmental Protection will continue to work with the cooperation of all the relevant parties to eradicate environmental crime in these matters and to bring justice to all the parties involved in the case.
At the end of a covert operation, in the last few days (12-16.5.24) joint forces of the Green Police raided the Ministry of Environmental Protection, officers from the Environmental Protection Section, forces from the Kiryat Ata Police, the Association of Cities for the Environment, the Yansuf Unit for the Prevention of Fires in Open Areas of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the Nature Authority and the parks, and KKL-Junk on the complex of an illegal transit station for waste near Kiryat Ata.
The station, which was operated without a business license, and its owner, are suspected of having dumped tens of tons of plastic waste, nylon, lumpy waste, cardboard, dry household waste, furniture, and prunings in the nearby open areas and in the KKL-Junk forests. According to the suspicions, these consequences caused serious environmental hazards that are visible to the eye .

At the end of the activity, the forces seized a crusher and 5 other heavy mechanical equipment: a digger, a mini digger, a wheel shovel and a truck which were moved to a designated lot in Haifa. Also, 6 site officials were detained for further investigation under a warning by the Israel Police.
