The memorial service was held on the day of remembrance for the martyrs of Israel's systems and the victims of hostilities on Monday 13.5.24 at 11:00 in the military section of the Tzur Shalom cemetery in Kiryat Bialik.

The ceremony was held in the presence of Mayor Eli Dukorski, his deputies, members of the city council, representatives of the IDF and members of the bereaved families who came to commemorate their loved ones.

Mayor Eli Dukorski:
"Seventy-six years that we don't have a day without pain and a night without tears. Seventy-six years have passed and we are still struggling and fighting for the first time. We are fighting and crying for our sons and daughters. The massacre in the Gaza Envelope and the war with the Iron Swords are a resounding and painful reminder of this from this year. Just yesterday we accompanied the resident The city, the late Sergeant Yosef Dassa, who fell in battle in the northern Gaza Strip.
Dear families, "first you cry" wrote the poet Avraham Halafi, and we accompany you in your pain, we who see your closed eyes, know that not only "first you cry" but always cry, and crying is not an "appetizer" as the poet and the poem say.
The late daughter of Free Zion, a resident of Kiryat Bialik, the mother of the late Yizhar, the last victim of the Yom Kippur War, 21 years old, cried for him until her last day: "I wanted to tell you that there hasn't been a day when I haven't stood in front of you for 37 years. My heart wraps around me, my eyes tear, my throat chokes. And I repeat the same words over and over again: why, why you?"
Bereavement in Israel is an integral part of the pattern of our lives. You continue with your life and look to the future. Poet Naomi Shemer Asher wrote: "Get up tomorrow morning with a new song in your heart, sing it with strength, sing it with pain."
On the eve of the 76th Independence Day of the State of Israel, we, the residents of Kiryat Bialik, extend to you an embracing and loving hand. We will add and perpetuate the memory of our fallen loved ones in the cultural and creative life of our city Kiryat Bialik."
