(haipo) - A tree fell directly on a table in the KKL-Junk Park in Nesher, a few moments after a family that had spent time there and sat there, had finished collecting their belongings with the intention of leaving.
The Haddad family from Haifa took advantage of the spring weather that prevailed yesterday (Saturday 4/5/24) and went for a walk in nature, in the KKL-Junk Park in Nesher. Together with another family, the family members had a pleasant time for several hours, when at one point they sat down at one of the tables on the site to eat and rest A little.
At around six o'clock in the evening, the family members began to get ready to return to their home, and just as they finished collecting their belongings and were about to leave the place, they heard noises coming from the direction of one of the trees that were near it, at the same time people who were sitting some distance from them began to shout at them in a panic to get away from the tree because it was about to collapse.

Andrios Haddad said in a conversation with Lai Fa:
"We ran with the things and immediately saw the tree collapse directly on the table, breaking it and the bench. By a miracle disaster was avoided, because one of the family members was sitting exactly where the tree fell. Just imagine what would have happened if we had not left in time. I am turning to the media to raise awareness of the issue This is important, so that they check the trees around the seating tables. We realized that the base of the tree that collapsed was all eaten and crumbled. This time we were lucky and avoided a disaster, but God forbid it could happen in other places and the end might be different.
I think that KKL-Junk, as well as the authority on whose territory the park is located, should deal with the issue and carry out periodic inspections to prevent such incidents in the future."

McKL provided Lai Pa in response:
"The tree collapsed due to a pest in the roots and a forester from KKL-Junk came today (Sunday 5/5/24) to the site for initial treatment of the hazard. In addition, an agronomist specializing in dangerous trees performed a safety survey before the holiday and a professional team will arrive at the park tomorrow and treat this tree and other trees in the area , this is in order to prepare the area for visitors and travelers. We at KKL are working hard to maintain the safety of travelers, and at the same time we must be vigilant in the area."
The Nesher municipality gave a response to Lai Pa: "The KKL-Junk Park is regularly taken care of in all aspects by Agronom safety consultants. In a park with thousands of trees that are carefully preserved, a tree fell and luckily no one was hurt. We are confident that KKL-Junk is doing their job faithfully and will take care of this defect as well. Nesher Municipality will continue to take care of the park and keep it open to the public."
KKL-Junk do their job faithfully? Maybe it's not enough?
You should arrive before the event, not after it.
