(Live here) - The Fusion-Haifa team founded and coached by Ellenberg, European champion in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu won the Northern Championship of the Israeli Grappling Association (ISRAELI GRAPPLING CHAMPUINSHIP).
"The time has come to promote the industry in the city and turn it into an international power"
The Brazilian jiu-jitsu training group that was established only seven months ago managed to grow competitors who will participate in the competitions. Ellenberg, the 22-year-old who already had time to participate in many competitions and win championships, decided to establish the team in October and train voluntarily, in view of the situation where almost everyone was "locked up in their homes" according to him. Little by little the team grew and today after six months "became the champion of the north". "I feel that the industry has been in the shadows for too long and it's time to promote the industry in the city and turn it into an international power."
In the competition held before Passover, 41 competitors from the Haifa Pigeon group, aged 5-21, each according to their age categories, totaled 32 competitors with various medals, 11 gold medals, 10 silver medals, 1-11 bronze medals, and the icing on the cake is winning first place in the group.
"I knew I would guide people but I didn't think it would happen at the age of 22"
In a face-to-face conversation, Ellenberg says: I think the 7/10 hit us all. I sat at home and saw the plight of the people, all day the parents are anxious in front of the screens and project it to the children. I decided at that time that I needed to act and started a group in a religious culture center in Neve Shanan. Already in the first trainings they saw how thirsty and need it the children and the parents no less.
Today, after six months of the children doing between 2-4 training sessions a week, the team competed and brought impressive achievements in the competition. I always knew that I would guide people to go through the same path that I went through. But I didn't think it would happen at the age of 22, but life is full of surprises. On a personal level, I continue to train hard 3 times a day and I am sure that I will continue to compete and represent Israel.
