The Mayor of Tirat Carmel, Dudu Cohen, this morning (Wednesday 17.4.24) participated in a conference on "The Regenerating Cities in Israel" held by the Walla website at Beit Zioni America in Tel Aviv, under the guidance of real estate editor Ofer Petersburg. The conference, which was designed to present possible solutions to a series of barriers in the field of urban renewal, was attended by the CEO of the Governmental Authority for Urban Renewal, Elazar Bamberger, and heads of authorities and councils from around the country.
In his words, the mayor, Dodo Cohen, presented four critical points in the aspect of promoting urban renewal projects in Carmel Castle: creating long-term planning certainty, massive investment in public infrastructure, planning residential complexes, and planning profitable employment and commercial complexes.
Mayor of Carmel Castle Dodo Cohen:
Carmel Castle has tremendous potential in terms of urban renewal, and this is one of the challenges we want to promote in the upcoming term. One of the main problems is planning uncertainty. In this context, I intend to establish bodies that currently do not exist, such as a strategic planning unit that will look ahead and correspond with the Administration for Urban Renewal, the Engineering Division and the municipal committees; We need to work to reduce the bureaucracy, cooperate with the developers and construction companies and create an intersection of interests, in order to promote a better quality of life.
"It is forbidden to solve the historical injustice of populations in old neighborhoods by creating future injustice," added the mayor, "If we load thousands of new apartments now, this will damage the infrastructure and create traffic congestion and so on. In addition to creating planning certainty, it is most important to invest in public infrastructure, public buildings and High quality residences, with an emphasis on smaller apartments for young couples. The prices of apartments in Tirat Carmel are skyrocketing, and young couples cannot buy an apartment in the city, as far-fetched as it may sound."
"The other thing that is necessary and needs to be invested in is commercial and employment complexes," the mayor emphasized at the end of his remarks, "when alongside the establishment of new complexes, the old complexes must be upgraded and adapted to the times, and create a mix of uses between leisure, community, high-tech, culinary, art and hotels. These are the things that must be promoted today in Carmel Castle - and this is our mission."
You don't have to. I didn't just choose you
Champion Yasher Khokh our mayor.
Thinks correctly and logically... as long as they don't stop him from implementing his plans.

I trust you.. you have all the links to bring Carmel Castle to prosperity and success... good luck and success in the position ❤️🩹👍
Regarding the criterion he set "massive investment in public infrastructure" these are words later washed into more roads, more interchanges, more entrances by private vehicles into neighborhoods and more destruction of natural resources into more bypass roads. Enough of the dirty words.
There is no further room to fill a small country with hundreds of thousands of additional vehicles every year. We need to immediately purchase thousands of buses, create streets for buses only that will be closed to private traffic and create a national system of bus routes with high frequency.
To close the public campuses to private vehicles and to set a goal that by 2028 about 70 percent of the public will travel only by public transportation.
to give licenses to hundreds of public taxis.
Abolish the signs for the disabled, and abolish the possibility of parking on sidewalks with a fine of NIS 500 for every vehicle caught in Israel on a sidewalk.
We must stop the private car madness in Israel. Appoint 5 metropolitan transportation management centers and place young public transportation experts there under a new government ministry "the government ministry for the transition to public transportation". Start mass scrapping of old vehicles. Ban the import of new vehicles to Israel. Close car import agencies.
enough!!! End the private vehicle spree here.
A city like Carmel Castle should be connected to 3-4 high-speed subway lines to the centers in Haifa and Atalit and make sure that the public can live in the city without a private car at all. People will stand in line to sell the vehicle from many public transportation options. Only this will truly allow urban renewal on a large scale.
It is also not unreasonable to demand an underground metro between the center of the Carmel Castle and MTM and the center of the Carmel Beach.
Such a metro line would be able to completely eliminate dependence on cars and buses and allow access to the sea, work, recreation and long trips from the Carmel Castle easily within 5 minutes from the moment of entering the underground station until reaching the Carmel Beach central station. Think what a tremendous boost such a thing would give to the Carmel Castle, with 8 stations on the metro line: Derech Hayam (Alia Gate-Ramat Hanasi), Hecht Park, Hoof HaCarmel Center-Matam, HaCarmel Gate-Haifa Stadium, Naut Peres BG, The Carmel Castle North, the Carmel Castle South and the Purveyors.
He who is not a communist in his youth has no heart and he who is a communist in his adulthood has no mind or has not matured. Why punish people who travel in a car with a traffic light? We are not in Russia or Korea and everyone will decide how it is convenient for them to move around.
Mr. Mayor, can a young couple who lives elsewhere in Israel purchase an apartment? A small waffle? That's why it's time for you as a mayor to free yourself from the dangers and your worldview that you drank and ate for me and exercise leading leadership and stop whining about the addition of the wrongdoing to the issue and freeing yourself from the manifestation of the wrongdoing will make it easier for you to be a more successful mayor who doesn't whine, rise and succeed.
Number 1 in the north only without Swedes
There is no consideration for the disabled, they want employment spaces on the first floors of the buildings when people have mobility problems and are afraid of getting stuck in the elevators, and as the mayor said, the prices are exorbitant and contractors and entrepreneurs want to build thousands of housing units in a small area in a ratio of one to six, as if they are doing us a favor. Anyone who wants to evacuate a building in the Carmel Castle needs a maximum A ratio of one to four apartments and not to suffocate us in the neighborhoods and those who are not interested can move on. Contractor after contractor will come. If tenants sign agreements and do not respect them. Already now because in the future they are selling the signatures. On Bialik Motzkin Herzl Street, they gave the tenants contracts without the company's signature. What do you say about that, Honorable Mayor Dodo Cohen.
Good luck, Uncle Cohen, the end of an act with the first thought.
good luck! It seems the residents are happy with you!
Carmel Castle, a city with great potential, in a great location! Warm, generous and loving people.
Just need to make an order to stop nepotism.
It is worth starting with primary education in all schools (even the new ones!) which unfortunately has deteriorated greatly in recent years after very great successes.
