On Friday 5.4.24/XNUMX/XNUMX, I started the morning with a short foray into the waters of the sea in the Bat Galim neighborhood in Haifa, because I made a guest appearance at the meetings with two groups that toured Bat Galim and told them about our magical reef here.

The green turtles or the brown turtles?
Only after the meetings did I finally enter the water for a real "snorkel", where I received a gift - I saw Henry, an adult green turtle.
In the whole world there are seven species of sea turtles, while here in the Mediterranean there are only two species - the green turtle and the brown turtle. Green sea turtles are rarer than brown sea turtles. It should be noted that there is also the loggerhead sea turtle here, which rarely visits, but the female does not lay her eggs on the shores of our country.
In my opinion, the green turtles are more beautiful than the brown turtles in their appearance: usually their shell is clearer and has a beautiful texture, while with the brown turtles it is very difficult to see the shell at all - usually it is not very clear. The shades of the armor range from brown to reddish, while the greens range from brown to green.
How will you know if you have met a green or brown sea turtle?
You will know if you have met a green or brown sea turtle by their head - brown ones have a large head in relation to their body, while green ones have a small head in relation to their body.
The brown turtles eat crabs, snails, squids, octopuses, jellyfish, fish, seaweed and algae.
The green turtles eat the same things only in adulthood they become vegans, stop eating animals and eat only seaweed and algae.

Before the last meeting, the last time I met Henry was in November 2023. I wonder where he has been since then. I am grateful every time after every magical meeting that is a breath of fresh air in this crazy time. I thank you for this magical bubble. Enter the sea, it's a dream...
in the blessing of the sea,
