(haipo) - The Give and Take project - a virtual GMC that started in Shlomi is changing and becoming a project for the evacuees as well as families in need. As part of the project, you can hand over and donate second-hand items such as: electricity, furniture, baby products, play clothes. The delivery and transfer takes place in the Haifa and northern areas only.
The project GAMAH and Aid for Maternity in Shlomi and the surrounding area started 15 years ago in the Shlomi settlement, by Carmit Ben Haim, in collaboration with other women and volunteers. The project was founded by Ben Haim after she gave birth to two children within a short period of time and found herself as a mother of two toddlers chasing sales, discounts and huge expenses on items for newborn babies. Carmit tells about looking for an additional coop or additional equipment needed at home and additional equipment at Grandma's, so that it will be there when Grandma is babysitting. Gradually Karmi discovered that she was not alone. There are many women and families who lack equipment and in addition, dealing with the purchase for short periods of time, involves considerable time and expenses.
Volunteer to cook
Ben Chaim, a company for women from the religious sector who have already started a project to help the mother give birth on the topic of cooking. They would come to the maternity homes and help and volunteer to cook for them and the family for two weeks. Ben Haim, founded a business called "Nanny Marketing" in which she recruited and brought kits containing basic things such as diapers, wipes and diaper paste for the baby. The kits she prepared, she donated under the sponsorship of the business to mothers from families in need or blessed with children.
Over time, the business began to grow and there was a demand for baby clothes, cribs, strollers, a light basket and things that cost a lot of money. According to Ben Haim, Lahi Fa:
"From many donations, we were helped by the council that allocated us a warehouse and we worked in cooperation with Fatah Lev and other associations. When the council stopped allocating the warehouse for the project, I made the project virtual on a give and take basis. I connect and mediate between the parties and that's how we found delivery solutions for those in need and saved on expenses. This idea also of delivery and transfer without storage protects the ecological environment as well as the human environment."
Give and take to the evacuees and those in need
Since October 7, when the Shlomi settlement and other settlements in the vicinity became a field of fire and residents were evacuated, Ben Haim made a different variation and made the group give and take to the evacuees and those in need.
Lahi Pe tells Ben Haim: I am concentrating the activity in the northern region because the evacuees are scattered in the northern region. Sometimes there is activity in the central area as well, from where small details can be transported. I see an amazing collaboration. The people open their hearts, donate and deliver products and items in usable and good condition.
Clothing, furniture, electrical products and more can be delivered. These days we see that many evacuees move from the hotels to the apartments they rent and in the meantime the temporary becomes almost permanent with an endless horizon.
Sometimes furniture and electrical products are needed, because people cannot move their things from the settlements nor can they buy something temporary. Sometimes there are apartments without furniture and sometimes with partial furniture, so any delivery or donation is welcome. The donation is also intended for families in need, not only evacuees.

Anyone interested in donating, donating or volunteering - please contact us. We will also be happy for people who can contribute with transportation or assembly or disassembly. At the end of the day, the project is a social enterprise that contributes to the ecological environment and the human environment. It's free and it meets the need.
A physical harvest requires space and volunteers Haruv is operated by budgeted associations. Me and the Gemach volunteers make the dew by volunteering for the needs of the public. Of course, we would be happy if the Haifa municipality would donate to us warehouses for moving products.
A very important project
How is it different from a non-virtual mortgage?
