In a magical garden that stretches between Harkafot Street and Narkisim Street in Western Carmel, a moving ceremony was held on Wednesday 20.3.24/XNUMX/XNUMX in the afternoon in memory of Daria Lytle, Dasha by her many friends.
A year ago, on March 17, 2023, Dasha was brutally murdered by her partner and the father of her three young daughters while they slept in a nearby room. Dasha lived on Derech Hayam street, near the garden and a nature and flora lover used to visit it with her daughters.

Sherry Aharoni Sophed to Daria Leitel ► Watch
Shari Aharoni, one of the leaders of the community garden since its establishment several years ago, opened the ceremony.
"We regret that this is what brought you to us, to this place that we cultivate here... One of our goals is to strengthen the values of community, listening and tolerance through action in nature, including planting trees, as a way to think about life and the future.
When we learned a year ago that there was an act of violence and murder in our neighborhood, the representatives of the scout tribe 'Ilanot' near here asked to hold an action in the garden and of course we accepted. We realized that something is burning from below that also connects to our desire in the neighborhood to act against violence as a personal example.
Today we will mark the corner stone for the listening and tolerance corner as a commemorative corner for Dasha, in the place where the cypress was planted last year. The Daffodil Garden is a community garden, an open public space given to us by the municipality and we take care of its care, clean up waste, plant trees, sow seeds, work hard here all year round. Our relationship with the scout tribe "Ilanot" made this possible."

Daniela and Mayan, Dasha's best friends, are the last to see her alive
"Dasha was at my house on Thursday 16.3," recalls Daniela in tears. The next day Dasha was murdered. From that moment it became a last hug, a last laugh, a last coffee... I miss her very much, her daughters miss her very much.
I want to ask you to help us not to forget her, there is no family on her side, we are her family, help us not to forget her. On the Sunday that I was looking after Roni, I asked her if she agreed that I would be her adoptive aunt, she said: sure... let's all be their aunts for a bit. The trauma was the murder, but life near orphans and lack is for life, where they need us..."

Ortel, Dasha's study friend in the 'Mosips' honors program in 2017, paid tribute to her:
"...in your short life you managed to touch the souls of many people, thanks to your intelligence and sensitivity, your kindness and compassion, your original, clear and sharp thinking and also the inspiring female model you set in the world. Beautiful inside and out, a soul...
When we met you were pregnant with Roni who is two and a half years old. You derived pleasure and satisfaction from your studies, your achievements were excellent and thanks to your personality you enjoy positive and benevolent social relations with your friends. Your comments and insights in class were always smart and insightful and testified to a creative woman who knows how to think, assemble, analyze, find connections and not least, ask the right questions.
...You didn't discount yourself and continued to come regularly, read and submit assignments, and as if it wasn't challenging enough to do all this with two tiny girls, you picked up again in a short time and promised me that this was the last time for the near future and we laughed. I marveled and admired your abilities, your skills to succeed in everything, to combine studies and motherhood in such a unique and impressive female model that inspired young female students. This is one of the reasons why you stood out so much and were in my eyes the head of the lions, the outstanding of the outstanding..."

Arnon Keren, head of the philosophy department at the University of Haifa, paid tribute to Daria Leitel ► Watch
"The most radiant student I have ever known, with a maturity and intelligence that is rare to meet"
Arnon Keren, head of the philosophy department at the University of Haifa, together with Prof. Baruch Eitan founded 'Mosips', a program for outstanding students in philosophy and psychology at the University of Haifa.
"Dasha was a student of the second cycle of the program, Arnon recalls. "She flourished in the academic environment. She was impressive in different ways. Dasha had a difficult life story, experienced childhood without a family, poverty and hunger, and in her adult life experienced violence during the marriage that led to her murder.
Besides that, Dasha was the most radiant student I knew, with a maturity and intelligence that is rare to meet, certainly in an outstanding program.
From conversations with other lecturers in the department in the seminar she took on the meaning of life, I heard how she gained insights from the very difficult life she faced. Her goal was to become a caregiver and help others. I hope that together we will be able to preserve our collective memory and hope that we will also learn something from her, she knew how to build up from the suffering she experienced."

"I felt like my world had fallen on me again, as if my daughter had been murdered again"
Lara Zinman, chairman of the organization of the families of the murdered and murdered, whose daughter Ganit was murdered at the age of 22 by her partner, dedicates her life to providing assistance and support to the families of the victims.
"One year ago, on the night between Thursday and Friday, I woke up from the reenactment of my daughter's murder, which was also on the night between Thursday and Friday, in March 1996, when I heard about a young girl who was murdered in Haifa.
I felt like my world had fallen on me again, as if my daughter had been murdered again. I heard Daniela in the media and immediately sought contact with her. Since then I continue to dive deep into Dasha's personality and memories, without knowing her personally I feel as if I felt Dasha. I want to be a partner in preserving her commemoration.
I am in awe of the role that Daniela took on and attracted wide circles, without her this would not have happened. It is very important to pass the memory from generation to generation. Every family must grow a generation that remembers and remembers and respects...
Unfortunately, in the State of Israel there is a hierarchy of bereavement, when Memorial Day for the soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces and the victims of hostilities comes soon, this year it will be something crazy, our victims will not be there, the people of Israel will not remember them, which is why these actions on a personal level are so important."

Every death and murder of every woman hurts
Alona Sold, consultant for the advancement of women's status in the municipality and Zohar, director of a domestic violence center, were invited by Daniela to participate in the memorial ceremony and came to support.
"We are pained by every death and murder of every woman," Alona said. "Unfortunately, the murder of women crosses sectors and populations and the phenomenon is very painful and unfortunately the phenomenon has been increasing in size in the last year. What you are doing is very exciting...
I did not know Dasha personally, I learned that she was an amazing wife and mother, successful and talented, it hurts to hear. It was important for us to express female solidarity and support, we do many events and workshops to prevent violence, we are open to any initiative on the subject."

The memorial events for Dasha are very important to me, it is important to keep mentioning her, to talk about her life, about who she was, she sounds like an amazing woman. It is important that we be vigilant and always be there for each other. We will continue to mention it here every year."
