Putting smiles on faces • Expanding the circle of doing good in Haifa - you can too

(live here) – A group of good and valuable people who love to make people happy, have been coming regularly for several years to the hospitals in Haifa, with one goal in mind - to put a smile on the faces of the hospitalized. On Fridays, on holidays and every day, the volunteers of the "Moshet Tov" association go between the different departments, hand out small gifts, talk and show interest and lift the spirits of the patients.

Do good every time

The "Hasht Tov" association was founded a decade ago by the Pardo-Roquas family. As part of the activity, the volunteers arrive at the hospitals throughout the country with surprises and greetings, move between the different departments and above all, as mentioned, put a smile on the faces of the patients and their families.

"It's a great feeling to be happy"

Shahar Segalsko, 24 years old from Haifa, an industrial and management student at Tel Aviv University, volunteers and coordinates the activities of the "Moshed Tov" association in Haifa. In a conversation with Lahi Fe, she says that today the association operates all over the country: "We make sure to make the patients hospitalized in all departments happy . As a routine, we regularly come every Friday to the "Bnei Zion" hospital, hand out a small, personal challah with a small note to the patients, talk with them and take an interest, both in the children's and adults' wards. On holidays, like Hanukkah for example, we give out donuts, on Purim we dress up and give out manna ears, sometimes we bring balloons, surprise bags, etc.

When I heard about the association I was very enthusiastic, and when I started volunteering I discovered that volunteering at the association gives me added value, and that doing good to someone else is something that gives a great feeling immediately.

Volunteers of the Chodesh Tov association

each according to his ability

The special thing about this association, and this is important to say, is that there is no requirement to commit to volunteer regularly or every week, anyone can join and volunteer alternately. There are, of course, those who make sure to volunteer every week, but not everyone has the opportunity to commit, and everyone volunteers according to their ability.

join us

At the moment our activity in Bnei Zion, we have been to Rambam several times, and in any case our goal is to expand the activity to all the hospitals in Haifa and to visit them regularly. What is beautiful is that the association is supported by donations - financial or physical. With the money, of course, we buy the challots or the small gifts.

We have a WhatsApp group that contains 100 people, and you can join us by contacting us through the association's website, or through Facebook or Instagram.

All the volunteers who come are good and quality people, whose whole goal is to do good and make the hospitalized happy. We have young volunteers, adults, there are also from schools. Everyone is welcome to join us and expand the circle of doing good.
