A girl resident of the Haifa area was referred this evening to the emergency room at Ruth Children's Hospital in Rambam while being resuscitated, with a fever. Unfortunately, despite the efforts of the medical team, the girl died.
She was found to be positive for the flu in an antigen test, but further inquiries will be required in the coming days with information obtained from cultures taken from her to find out in depth what the cause of death was.
At this point it is not possible to determine the cause of death.
The Ministry of Health and the District Health Bureau received a report. We share in the grief of the family for the difficult tragedy that befell them.
