Attorney Yaniv Yaakov, CEO of the Green Or Association:
Every day a person is killed in a car accident, another family joins the circle of bereavement. Children, parents, grandparents - whole lives are brutally cut off on the road. The data for 2023, which show an increase in the number of fatalities in traffic accidents despite the war and the decrease in traffic volume, highlight the major failure of the Ministry of Transportation and Road Safety. This is a direct result of continued neglect and budget cuts that are supposed to save lives. Beyond that, the road has become a dangerous place and we all feel the growing insecurity and fear.
