(Hai Fe) – Hulda Gurevich, known as the 'White Angel', passed away this morning (Tuesday 16/1/24) with a good return, when she was 98 years old.
The funeral of Hulda Gurevich will take place on Wednesday 17/1/24, at 15:30 PM in the old cemetery, HaCarmel Beach.
Hula GurvitzShe was born in Israel in 1926 and even in her youth began to devote a lot to extensive voluntary and social work, until soon the nickname "the angel in white" stuck to her, which apart from referring to the enormous act of charity to which she dedicated her life, also touched on the fact that she habitually wore white.
Another nickname that Gurevich has earned is the "mother of all the wounded", this is due to her work, the extent of which is unimaginable, when it comes to helping the disabled in the IDF and their families. Over the years, and on a daily basis, she made sure to visit the hospitals, demand the peace of the wounded, take an interest, talk and lend a hand To each and every one of them according to their needs, just as if they were her own children. This is also how Gurevich worked for bereaved families, which unfortunately keep multiplying over the years.
For her endless and extraordinary work, Gurevich won the President's Medal for a Volunteer and the Israel Award for Lifetime Achievement, she was also awarded the title of Haifa City Darling and many other signs of recognition and appreciation.
last birthday
At the beginning of this month, January 2024, she also got to celebrate her last birthday, reaching the age of 98, surrounded by immense love from her family, friends and many acquaintances. The moving event was moderated and led by the composer Tova Porat, who performed with Gurevich in front of IDF soldiers and wounded for many years and even composed a song in honor of the benevolent woman, mother of all the wounded, the angel in white, Huldah.

Hulda Gurevich She was born in Atlit in February 1926, to Dov and Hanna Hoffman, founders of the "Salt Company in Israel", and is the granddaughter of Gabriel and Tova Shapira, one of the founders of the Atlit colony.
She did her military service in the navy and was even one of the first women to serve in the navy. Near her release from the army, she began volunteering at the Committee for the Soldier, a volunteering she continued until her last day. In addition, she was engaged in organizing activities for soldiers, guided immigrant children in crossings and in Wadi Salib and was active in helping the Druze and in the Israel-France Friendship Association.
Gurevich lived in Haifa and served as a member of the city council. After the Yom Kippur War, she chose to resign from her job and devote all her time to voluntary activities for soldiers and victims of hostilities. Since then, she would come every day to convalescent homes and hospitals, always dressed in white, and hold activities, parties and events whose essence is to encourage and raise the morale of the victims.
Huldah's activities took place mostly at the Rambam Medical Center and the nearby military convalescent home. Gurevich founded the "Argon Neshi Harut Israel" association, which operates 23 day care centers throughout the country. Together with her husband, Adv. Ben-Ami Gurevich (who passed away in 1965), she established friendship associations with various countries in the world, including the "Space for the Non-Arab Peoples of the Middle East", and as mentioned, the "Israel-France Friendship Association". Her work in this field It also touched on encouraging tourism to Israel.
At the age of 94, it was decided in the Haifa municipality to name a new boardwalk after Gurevich while she was still alive, and in 2020 a rat boardwalk was inaugurated in her presence, but until this very day, January 2024, the boardwalk has not yet been opened to the public.
At the Rambam Hospital, where Gurevich spent long days for decades, voluntarily and faithfully accompanying countless injured people, photos from the archives of the activities of the wonderful and special woman who dedicated herself to others with rare giving, sensitivity and kindness were brought up.
R.I.P.
Eldad Klinger, the nephew of the late Gurevich who lives in Eilat told Lahi Fe: "Today we lost a piece of the State of Israel. The late aunt Hulda Gurevich went above and beyond with her giving and volunteering. All her life she did not rest, she held the country in her hand. There are no words to describe what she did for the country. She loved children very much and was a participant in all family events. I am so proud to be her nephew and the whole family feels proud to be a part of us. When I tell friends and people about her they start asking where I know her from and I proudly tell her that she is my aunt. She loved to draw and write poems. "Who will find a soldier's wife" is her and it is sad and painful that today we lost her, may she rest in peace."
Baruch Dayan Emet. The angel in white as her name is. Always in white, happy and quick and sticking to the huge and dedicated volunteering for the soldiers, for the wounded and disabled in the IDF. For many years I would see her on Shabbat evenings with young women volunteering in white with musical instruments and sweets for the soldiers, moving from department to department at the Rambam Hospital for long hours happily With great joy and giving. I love her. Such a good woman, all smiles and love. May she be remembered forever, Amen. I remember her from the shifts I did as a house doctor at Rambam in the departments of orthopedics and thoracic surgery. In 1985-1995.
Very beautiful and thank you very much for her many activities, but since 1965 when her husband died, I wonder why she didn't have children with him? They were married for 10 years! I wonder why she didn't know any man and didn't get married and only dedicated her life to volunteering and Ezra to others, I didn't know her husband who was a lawyer abah I know someone who worked for him faithfully and he was just so stingy and didn't want to pay, may her memory be blessed.
Likes to have a street named after her, there was a woman from Shechem and above
Kudos to Rabbi Kaplan Rabbi of Bat Galim and Kiryat Eliezer for the obituary
Visited my father Zel Berambam not many years ago. They were photographed together for the news. Even when she was at a really advanced age, she didn't stop being active, I don't believe there was or will be another one like her.
Thanks to you, I found out that Huldah was celebrating her 98th birthday at Beit Yules and I immediately went to visit and even took a picture with her. We both distributed cakes to the wounded from my patisserie. Thanks to you, I met her a week before she left us. Thank you for allowing me to do this. Sincerely, 052-2696415
angel woman I remember her from my 38 years of work at Rambam (Professor in the Department of Internal Affairs). There was no one like her and there will never be another like her...it's just a shame that you brought the photo of Dani Halutzi, the wretched Chief of Staff of the IDF. Here produces filth and hatred.
And the Rat Promenade that was closed and abandoned the day after opening... what a disgrace to the Haifa municipality... they threw millions in the trash...
Bless your truth!
We knew Hulda Gurvitz very well. When I was a child we lived next door to each other and had the privilege of seeing the many Acharoms who frequented their home in the building where we lived.
Hulda was active in a wide variety of voluntary activities and touched the audiences and social groups she helped and they helped her fulfill the wishes of all those she cared for.
Shame on Dabdin! R.I.P.
Wow, a wonderful woman. I lived for years in Hadar every time I used to see her passing by in white
I am in awe of her, a noble woman, she always had an upright and steady walk. May her memory be blessed, Amen
How the boardwalk named after her has not yet opened. shame
She became a widow at the age of 39. Her husband, who was a lawyer, died in 1965
Where are there other people like this... The angel in white was a close friend of the late Menachem Begin, she was a right-wing Zionist and had unconditional love for the Land of Israel and the IDF soldiers, she contributed to education for the love of the land and traveled on the buses to distant places... a wonderful woman with a sense of humor, she was not afraid to go against The left .. I knew her personally .. the angels in white will accompany her to heaven .. she will be missed by all of us .. Baruch Dayan Emet.
I remember her as a 10-year-old girl, maybe younger, when my grandfather was hospitalized, she came to make the patients happy in the ward where he was hospitalized.
A woman with a huge soul and a heart of gold.
Rest in Eden.
Blessed Dayan the truth - may her memory be blessed - what a righteous woman she was

May her memory be blessed forever!!
I knew her personally, she was also friends with my mother, that's the way of the world.

I remember when you wanted a singer to perform in front of the wounded, my late brother
Yossi Alon never refused her appeared and made the wounded happy I am sad to hear about her passing may her memory be blessed
A strong and loving woman with endless giving.
A wonderful woman, the angel in white. He frequently came to visit the wounded and sick at the convalescent home in Haifa. Always with a smile, sweets for the soldiers, flowers for planting around the base. Every week he regularly took a group of soldiers out to a show or a restaurant to ventilate. There is no doubt that many many owe
She has many hours of grace. R.I.P!!
Huldah was the soldier's mother, that's what he always called her, she was always a pampering helper.
I share in the grief of the family, her soul is bundled in the bundle of life, Baruch Dayan Emet
Really sad,,,,,, I'm shaking all over,,, a woman vomited went to the country
Call the new neighborhood in the southern entrances "Chelnyot - here thanks to them".
Streets and squares named after IDF soldiers who fell in the battles of the Gaza massacre with iron swords. The main street should be called Hulda Gurvitz.
It's a shame she didn't get to see the promenade named after her in Bat Galim open to the public. Already four and a half years after the festive opening ceremony, the boardwalk was closed and abandoned.
All the angels of heaven were waiting for her at the gate of heaven. An ancient and special soul. May you be blessed with all the blessings of heaven and earth and may there be many like her on the face of the earth. We are blessed that she chose to live among us. Remember with love forever.
