(haipo) - Taxi passengers in Haifa reported to Lahi Fe that in the excess they received for paying for their trip, they discovered coins similar to a 10 NIS coin, but in fact it is a coin from Kazakhstan, which, aside from being unusable in Israel, is worth less than a single weight. This is the second case about which Lahi Fe became aware of in less than from a month of days.
Using fake or non-standard coins is, as you know, an offense against the law. It is not known at this stage if this is a phenomenon or only isolated cases, but during a period of less than a month, two different cases were reported in Haifa, in which Haifa residents received fake coins as an excess to pay for a taxi ride.
A resident of the city who traveled a few days ago in a taxi with her husband from Carmel Hospital to the mansion, was surprised to discover that in the excess she received from the taxi driver was a coin similar to a 10 NIS coin, but in fact it is a coin from Kazakhstan, which apart from being non-standard for use in Israel, is worth much less than -10 NIS. Since it was a small amount of only 10 shekels, the woman preferred to save herself the trouble of filing a police complaint.
According to that woman, she decided to turn to the Haifa system when she found out that a similar incident happened to her friend when she was traveling in a taxi in the city just a few weeks earlier. The company also received such currency within the surplus given to it by the driver.
The woman told Live here: "It was only when we got out of the taxi that we counted the excess and noticed that the currency we received was in fact fake. The reason I turned to Haifa is to warn the residents, to pay attention when they receive a refund from taxi drivers, but not only from them. It happened to us in a taxi, but it can happen in other places as well others. The thing is that you don't immediately notice, because the coin is misleading, it is very similar to the 10 NIS coin, both in size and in the colors of the two types of metals."
As you may recall, last September the security department of the Gulf Coast identified fake NIS 100 bills, which were distributed in several stores.
In my opinion the case is serious... the Mossad must be involved, as well as the Shin Bet.
A very serious case! How come they didn't open the news with this news!!! The situation in the north, and in Gaza, is dwarfed by the incident that happened to the lady and her friend.
I work at a kiosk, and since the war in Ukraine, 3 Ukrainians have come to Israel and are being forced to use coins in parking lots, it looks like NIS 5 and NIS 10, the police will not help here, but vigilance will, there is no faith in Gentiles
In Israel, those who commit such a crime will be paid in the same currency but in a smaller amount... maybe he will be encouraged
Haha second case that someone bothered to complain!! That's the difference.. it's not new and not the second case.. nor the 100th case..
It happened to me a few years ago that a driver tried to give me a fake bill but didn't notice that his ultraviolet lamp (for checking bills) was on on the dashboard.. I put the bill there and looked at it.. it didn't blink. He closed the lamp, took out another bill and gave it to me, then told me in a threatening voice to get out of his cab. I didn't complain because I know it's a waste of time.
Completely!!!
Agree with Alexey
Totally agree with Alexey!
The fact that the coin is from Kazakhstan does not mean that it is fake. It just means that we gave it instead of another currency. Because there is such a place in the world, therefore it is not a problem to purchase it and use it, only the imagination between them is problematic!!!!
All the best to you, Samar Odeh Karantinji.
In Israel it is possible.
Because in Israel everything is possible
What will they do to whoever gets caught???
Until there is a proper punishment here, the crime will be celebrated!!!
