Gunshots and explosions in the Bat Galim neighborhood in Haifa

(Hai Fe) - Many residents of the Bat Galim neighborhood are worried in light of hearing gunshots and explosions that took place this week (31.12.23-4.1.24). The residents contacted the police hotline but did not yet understand what happened in their neighborhood, which increases the stress and worry among them.

Shooting explosions and panic of residents

On the night between Monday and Tuesday (January 1-2.1.24, 23) mixed sounds of gunfire and explosions were heard in the Bat Galim neighborhood in Haifa, which startled the residents of the neighborhood and caused them concern. The residents tell Lahi Fe that the first shooting occurred at around 30:2 PM, then at 00:4 AM and 00:XNUMX AM, which created a panic.

The residents began to correspond with each other and ask about the voices heard in the neighborhood WhatsApp groups, especially in women's groups. Many also called the police and were told that the matter was being handled. Despite this, the days passed and the residents were left with unanswered questions and a feeling of insecurity that was added to the general feeling of insecurity following the war.

Yasmin Simhon, a resident of the neighborhood, tells Lahi Pa:

that was scary. At 23:00 I heard the sound of shots and also of explosions. Panic immediately began, the groups of women in the neighborhood did not rest and were not quiet and we each began to correspond about what we heard from which direction. I called and reported to Moked 100 and another big part also reported to the police. It didn't stop here even later hours it was heard again which increased the fear and stress. Especially since there was a stabbing incident only recently and a suspect has not yet been caught.

Afraid to walk around the neighborhood

We received many inquiries about the event in the system. From conversations with residents and also from testimonies in the groups, it was said that recently the sounds of gunfire were often heard in the neighborhood, which is not typical for it. What worries the residents the most is the feeling of insecurity and not receiving an adequate response. Because some that day closed their windows and were afraid to open and some were afraid to leave the house. Even today, several days later, the residents say that they are afraid to walk around the neighborhood in the evening.

Tal Kazman, a resident of the neighborhood, added and said:

I heard the sounds of gunfire and immediately started flooding messages in the WhatsApp groups, especially from women who are worried and afraid. Some of them called and reported to the police and that's how we started to get updates and wait to hear what happened but unfortunately to this day we don't know what happened in the neighborhood even though there were those who saw police cars coming but we didn't get an answer or an update. We started searching the news sites and found nothing. This is very worrying.

The police told Lai Pa:
"There was no fear of an unusual event."

  1. A strange response from the police: "There was nothing unusual"... what do they mean? That shooting in the neighborhood is a normal thing?

  2. Oh, you didn't understand what happened? As long as there are Bnei Belial in our cities and neighborhoods there will always be a mess, Kahana was right.

  3. As usual, the neighbor's response, there was nothing and there will be nothing, just rumors....then they will say that they didn't listen to the complaints of the residents, reminds me of something...no???

  4. You are indeed blaming the factors that are supposed to really protect us and our children..
But in a fundamental matter in this matter, you need to understand that those who control the police, the army, the border guard and all the centers of power are only the judges of the Supreme Court and the courts...
The government also does not control that every decision it makes is worth as much as a shell if it has to pass the reasonableness test and everything and anything needs the approval of a legal advisor (another "junior") who catches the government by the balls...

  5. There is no municipality. For years now. Since she became mayor, I only hear bad things about Haifa. go already There is no government in the city that could have been a wonderful gem. Yahav started the work and then she arrived and made a homicide report. My old city. no future So disappointing

  6. What some of the commenters wrote here is true. Explosives of young Arabs. Why call them cousins? We are Jews and they are Arabs. Very simple.
The phenomenon is not new. Once in a while it comes back. It's happening in Kiryat Eliezer, in Allenby, in Ein Hayam and all around it sounds like a single rifle shot. Besides, in their joys they bombard. I don't know if these are trainings from the navy bases. And what happened at midnight on 31.12.23/XNUMX/XNUMX were fireworks for about ten minutes straight, in honor of the end of the past year and the beginning of the new year. It happens every year, and the municipality is responsible for it. I don't know who made sure this year that we have a little happiness in honor of the new year. The noisy bikers have also returned to the scene a bit recently. Not as it was until before the war. Let's hope that someone will take all these phenomena not only as fear attacks following the war of residents, but also as a nuisance for the city residents and the animals.

  7. Let's reveal a secret to you:
The rush from the gas station area between Bat Galim and Kiryat Eliezer.
A strip that brings car wrecks there with a deliberate "explosion" of exhausts and explosives in the wee hours of the night.
Everything is known to the Haifa police except that they do not approach the area of the gas stations after the Dolphin intersection because there will be gun battles between them and
The crime gangs that control the complex. Therefore, even when "raids" are made on improved vehicles, it is not done there but at the Allenby interchange or at the entrance to the downtown and where exactly do these vehicles go? You figured it out yourself.
It's time to kick the criminal elements out of this complex and then there will be peace.

  8. I believe that these are some guys who had the exhaust pressure removed from the car that makes explosive noises and they found a time of boredom due to the revocation of a license or the confiscation of the car to blow up something else that would disturb and hurt and anger those around them.
Do not show them that you are afraid - it will pass

  9. The use of shooting and explosives on Christian or Muslim holidays as well as at private events in Haifa is well known to the police. The police make a serious mistake when they ignore this and put up with the phenomenon. This is another issue that greatly reduces the public's sense of security and trust in the police!

  10. So just for the information of the residents of Bat Galim tonight between Thursday and Friday there were explosions and explosions also in Kiryat Eliezer on the Hagana road two or three times at 12 at night and at two in the morning and even later booms and explosions were heard.

  11. There are "rules", weapons were distributed!! What do you expect from the fish if the head stinks?!
Unfortunately, the whole country is in one big chaos. A government that lives to rake in money and is not interested in anything beyond that.

  12. All the Tel Avivians who immigrated here probably don't know the neighborhood. A navy training base sits inside the neighborhood and sometimes shots and explosions are heard from there. Besides, our dear cousins like to blow things up in their free time and in happy times, and as mentioned, they are very welcome to come from the village and spend the night in the neighborhood, making noise, traveling like sick people, threatening and harassing.
They can do whatever they want as long as they don't think there are racists in the neighborhood.

  13. There were gunshots last night as well. Police think it's exhaust noise.
It is also illegal and a form of noise terrorism. Especially since it's midnight and two in the morning.

  14. Dear friends, wake up, the shooting and explosions are commonplace. The joys of our neighbor from the sector. on happy days. These are a type of fireworks. The police turn a blind eye because there is no crime in this in their opinion. It's just like fireworks on Independence Day.

  15. I didn't understand the police box?
I mean shooting and explosions is not an unusual event?
And 7/10 is not an unusual event either
There is no one to trust
Sad the country is falling apart
