(haipo) - On October 6, 2023, the first trip as part of the "Autumn in the Valleys" project of the "Haifa Trails" group set off, on a lovely trip along the Ramat-Alon trails. On October 7, the country came to a standstill, and all the autumn trips were stopped at one point. Since then, we tried to think when it would be appropriate to bring back some sanity to this chaotic period and we started offering trips only on weekends, each time a trip and not an event with resonance and publicity. The responsiveness was in accordance with the fluctuations of the national and personal mood.
* The article by Ehud Sabirsky, an activist in the "For Haifa" community, about the Einstein Trail
A sidewalk packed with hikers
On Friday 29/12/2023 I volunteered to lead a trip on the "Einstein Promenade Trail". Since we didn't ask for pre-registration, I didn't know if I would be traveling alone or if some "crazy talkers" would come who happened to have a free Friday morning. As I approached the meeting point, I saw a busy sidewalk and more travelers were unloading walking sticks from the vehicles and getting ready for the trip.
Mushrooms and sprouts
We met several types of mushrooms: Ornias, sticky beautiful hollys (Nanad), and a young stage of a female finicky. Monk's cap mats and sorrel. We talked about strategies of invasive species. We saw a nest of a gedron, blackening releases of food under a mat of fallen leaves and a lot of activity and Yirgazi's loud voice.
The path is shady and pleasant for walking, and it has regular maintenance of pruning by the municipality and regular earthworks by wild boars... We learned to identify and collect sprouts of wild plants such as harhabina from Khilah (for a green salad) and Jerusalem sage (in Arabic - Lisiina, and in Carmel-Hofaf from stuffed wheels). We saw the "paintings" on the cyclamen leaves, and learned that each one has its characteristic color pattern. We walked in the shadow of the wood climbers, the ivy and the tamas, and we met nests of ants. The route and the group were charming and left with a taste for more.
How to get there
Einstein Lane got its name because it parallels Einstein Street and the elementary school there. You can enter the path from any of the following points: go down the stairs of B.S. Einstein to the path, go up to the path via the stairs from 23 Hickinton St. or join the path through the garden named after the late Daniel Manchel, who was murdered in a terrorist activity at the "Metzah" restaurant in 2002.
The shaded path connects the Einstein School and the Daniel Menchel Garden, a pleasant walk among flowers and natural woodland vegetation and also planting citrus trees.
Impressive. And here near the house. I would be happy to sign up if there are more trips
magnificent! Unfortunately we didn't know and missed this trip to Einstein. We would be happy to join a trip like this or a similar one in the Carmel area
I would be happy if they planned tours on Saturdays as well. Friday is a short and busy day, so we would be happy if they held tours on Saturdays. Thank you
Thank you for the article. We would be happy for more trips. Please keep us updated.
Well done Inbal for the time and initiative. We need a few more like you to raise Haifa's horn.
I so, so want to join but I'm not in the mood to go.... Please don't neglect us. Organize once a month, for example... Thanks.
Hi, I was surprised, I would love to join the trips. Thank you for the blessed initiative
Haifa Trail
very interesting
How can I be updated about more trips in Haifa?
Where does Inbal advertise her trips?
A welcome idea and initiative.
I would love to receive information
Thanks
To the best of my recollection, there is no entrance from the stairs to the Einstein school, which is a shame. It is advisable that we ask the municipality to make a closed gate like at the entrances to wadis.
I would love to be notified about tours
Wonderful, wonderful, lovely!!! Thank you !
For health….nature…..the animals…..it is better to be vegan
I would love to receive information on the next trips
The tours in nature, in wadis and forests, a special experience only for the beautiful Haifa! Friday is allowed for all the preparations and activities before Saturday in order to have time for Ehud Sabirsky's tour.
The tours with Ehud are always educational and fun.
Ehud shares his great knowledge with us.
The group is pleasant and the tour is lovely!
The silence of nature, the chirping of birds and the fresh air... a deep breath
and enter into a calm in a challenging time and the urban bustle.
Thank you Ehud and thank you Anbal

Important article Inbal. Shalom and blessed Sabbath
Hi Aaron, the route is linear - round trip. Easy level of difficulty, mostly flat. Regarding parking - it depends on where you start or join the trail as I detailed in the article. The length of the route in my estimation is about one and a half km.
Thanks for the article.
Details such as;
the length of the route
Is it circular?
where to park
Nice, advertise the next trail as well as Shabbat trips
