From Haifa to Tel Aviv in just half an hour

The government approved today, Sunday 24.12.23, the project to double the coastal railways between Haifa and Tel Aviv. As part of the project, the two existing tracks will be upgraded, so that they will allow travel at a speed of 160 km/h and will be added Two new tracks designed for a speed of 250 km/h, so that the travel time from Haifa to Tel Aviv will be shortened to only 030 minutes.

Minister of Transportation and Road Safety Brigadier General Miri Regev:

Public transportation is at the center of my work, and the backbone of public transportation is the train. When I took office, I set a vision of connecting the entire State of Israel in a network of high-speed trains, and we are realizing this vision here step by step, track by track. The decision, which was approved by the Committee for National Infrastructures and today also by the government, adds an important layer to the development of the rail network, and will make it possible to open the 'bottleneck' in the busiest section in Israel, the Haifa-Tel Aviv line.

Doubling the coastal railways between Haifa, the Carmel coast and Sheim

Approval of the plan was made possible after the Ministry of Transportation and Road Safety and the Israel Railways completed the statutory planning procedure for doubling the coastal railways between Haifa, the Carmel Coast, and Chaim, in accordance with the national plan Subtal 65A. New tracks planned for a speed of 160 km/h, and the addition of two suburban tracks between Netanya and Sheim.

With the completion of the project, the travel time from Haifa to Tel Aviv will be only about 30 minutes; In the next phase, when it is fully operational, the frequency of trains during peak hours will increase to 14 trains per hour in each direction. The number of stations between Haifa and Tel Aviv will increase to 11, and the number of passengers on this route is expected to increase to about 30 passengers during peak hours in both directions.

Director General of the Ministry of Transportation and Road Safety Moshe Ben Zaken:

The project to double the coastal railways is an essential step in the realization of Minister Miri Regev's vision of 'connecting Israel', and will be integrated into the planned railway that will connect the entire State of Israel, from Kiryat Shmona to Eilat. This is a significant leap forward in the development of the national rail network and public transportation in general, which will allow the continuation of the train's growth trend and the jump in the number of passengers, which is expected to increase 4 times or more compared to today.

The coastal railway - one of the busiest and most sought-after routes in the railway network

The number of annual trips on Israel Railways is expected to soar from 70 million today, to 105 million in 2025, 200 million in 2030, and approximately 300 million in 2040. One of the busiest and most sought-after axes in the rail network is the coastal railway, a major transportation artery connecting Gush Dan with Haifa and the north of the country, and shortens the travel times between the center and the periphery.

Today, the route includes only two tracks, and is a "bottleneck" that limits the number of trains that can be operated. The result: busy and overcrowded trains during peak hours, limited frequency and long travel time. The opening of that "bottleneck", along with the addition of rails on Ayalon Avenue, will allow the continued development of the national rail network to meet the expected demands.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Israel Railways, Attorney Moshe Shimoni:

The vision of 'connecting Israel' to eliminate the periphery is nerve-wracking and doubling the coastal railways is a central and vital part of it. Thanks to the project, the travel time from the north to the center and all parts of the country will be shortened, new stations will be built, and high-speed trains will be operated. All of these will enable a fast and high-quality connection of the different parts of the country, accelerated economic development, employment opportunities, and lower housing prices.

The vision of the future public transport

The vision of the future public transportation is based on a continuous high-frequency connection between the major metropolises and Tel Aviv, so that any passenger from Haifa can reach the station and board a high-speed train to the Hefzo district within a few minutes. For this purpose, the doubling of the coastal railway and the addition of two high-speed railways between Haifa and Gush Dan is required. The new tracks will enable a significant shortening of the travel time from the north of the country to the center, without intermediate stops and without the need to change trains.

The doubling of the coastal railway is part of a strategic plan that includes railway development and the addition of lines and stations, together with the development of housing, commercial and employment complexes near the stations and the establishment of cargo terminals and rail border crossings for passengers and cargo.

CEO of Israel Railways Shiko Zena:

Connecting the major metropolises through an advanced rail boulevard that will be supported by high-speed trains reaching up to 250 km/h is a central link in the strategic development plan of the Ministry of Transportation and Israel Railways. As soon as all the planning procedures are completed, we will enter the implementation phase, at the end of which Israel Railways will stand in line with the most advanced countries in the world in terms of rail service. I thank the Ministry of Transportation and Tel Aviv for promoting the program for the benefit of upgrading the train service for the well-being of passengers and the transportation future of all of us.

  1. More fictions from the seminary house of Miri Rakev. Background for the campaign of the corrupt boss and his crazy wife.

  2. It was not specified when the half-hour drive from Haifa to Tel Aviv would be

  3. Only in Israel does the government do things for the residents but they still hate the government for political reasons. Well, well, you'll probably want to bring back the eloquent Mirav Michaeli, she's one of ours! The fact that she did nothing is a minor matter.

  4. I don't believe Miri Regev in anything. This woman knows how to talk like her boss about grandiose plans but does not know how to respond to travel on Shabbat, about transportation for soldiers and many other things that the citizens need. She is talking about so much money that where will she get it from??? Will they get involved with a white elephant again? Only because of her unrealistic dreams. If the economy was in a different state, without war, without collapsing businesses and citizens trusting their leaders, everything would be possible

  5. The title of 30 minutes drive from Haifa to Tel Aviv is very important. The 'correct' entrepreneurs (those who are in the combine of Haifa municipality officials and the planning committees) will not be able to promote their projects (without a 30-minute title) - those construction monsters that include severe residential density and 'quality' apartments that include internal services without external ventilation and apartments with one air direction And a host of planning failures common in Haifa. There are not enough victims in Haifa to fall into the pit of the problematic supply of apartments - the 30-minute headline can drag here victims who have no choice but to get a problematic apartment in Haifa, instead of in the demand areas in Gush Dan at astronomical prices - so there is no need to eulogize the 'right' contractors and the approved construction monsters here. By the Tachmun Committees and the Haifa Municipality - the monsters have a resurrection and will have to write off less debt, until everything gets stuck with the transportation failures that are expected to empty the state coffers in favor of the 'right' officials and that won't help either. praying

  6. I noticed that in the article there is no commitment to the execution dates. So it is likely that completion will be delayed just as is happening today with the electrification project. The workers in Spain left, and the Ministry of Transportation took advantage of this and postponed the implementation date by two years. The implementation of the project stipulates that a tunnel to bypass Haifa will not be realized and it ignores the obligation to sink the tracks, which blocks access to the sea. It is clear to everyone that the mayor's office has failed and is allowing the Ministry of Transportation to act and set rivets that will not allow Haifa to develop

  7. The time has come, congratulations on Miri's work. No matter what they say, nothing comes close to disaster and his name is Mirav She-He Michaeli Kastner.

  8. Autonomous trains have been running for a long time, at least on a partially covered track, as is the case in many modern cities.

The related workers' unions are opposed for understandable reasons.

  9. Champion as usual Miri Regev Member of Knesset smart beautiful strong determined for success the only way is health only the Likud can lead the Prime Minister of Israel Binyamin Netanyahu the King has no substitute for health and success father of the citizens of Israel forever

  10. Miri Regev could announce a direct train line from Haifa to Greece via Cyprus. The project of the train to Europe and the half-hourly train from Haifa to Tel Aviv will end on the same day. Good luck to us Haifaites.

  11. What will it help, if on the weekend there is no normal transportation from Haifa to Tel Aviv and back?!

  12. Miri Regev said that so everything is fine nothing will happen because there is nothing like Bibi said and she licks him
Shame on the country and the world that she even sings here

  13. The train must travel on Shabbat, and if there is a problem with the Shabbat keepers, they will have non-Jewish drivers or the train will operate like a Shabbat elevator. As for those looking for parking to use public transportation.

  14. They are hiding the destruction they are going to do at the Carmel Beach station
The simulations shown here are incorrect. What will be done at the Carmel beach station is rebuilding it and destroying the beach around it until 2030
The station will be closed for many years. I don't have the strength to explain, I read what they intend to do and this is the last nail in the future of this city.
Closing the Carmel Beach station for its reconstruction until 2030 will bury us, not to mention the electrification which is simply a stranglehold around and within Haifa.

  15. The article did not specify when it would be available for use.
Is this a subway style application in Tel Aviv?

  16. Answer to limbo
    No need to slow down
The train from Tel Aviv will make a sudden stop in Atlit
The passengers will continue to Haifa by the power of perseverance

  17. Of course, two or three times the waiting years for the completion of the project must be added - remember the deviation in execution times from what was expected in the execution of the line to Jerusalem, and the malfunctions and the deviation from the budget, by the way - its expected amount and source are not even mentioned in the festive announcement: not a word. How easy it is to plan to approve and secure promises and sign in the middle of a war that does not yet know when and how it will end and who is paying for it.

  18. A pig will always take the honor and the best food because in his opinion he worked hard at the mouth rot.

  19. It can not be
    - Each stop adds at least 15 minutes because a train needs about 6 minutes to get from 0 to 160 and vice versa.

  20. Forget the most important word: overhead electrification!!! Haifa will be cut off from the sea forever. Local disaster

  21. half an hour to find parking at Haifa station,
Another half hour drive to Tel Aviv
And a long time to get out of the station in Tel Aviv and wait for the local transport there. How much is it together?
