For the third time (!) in six months, the street in Haifa was destroyed and rebuilt

(haipo) - The residents of Borochov in Haifa claim that infrastructure works are taking place on the street that repeat themselves over and over until the feeling is that they "will never be finished". "According to them, they are unable to find logic in the way the works are conducted, since, within a period of six months, the street has been destroyed and repaired three times already, and this is not the end yet...

Around the end of April and the beginning of May this year, work began to replace the water infrastructure on Borochov Street in Haifa. The works, which lasted about three and a half months, were finished last July and immediately after their completion a new sidewalk was built.
The residents of the street say that only a few days later, workers came to the street again, destroyed the sidewalk and then rebuilt it.

Surprisingly, according to residents, only about a month and a half ago, workers appeared again in the street and began work and prolonged excavations, which were carried out for several weeks and throughout the hours of the day. This time the works were carried out on the other side of the street, but the residents say they were surprised when they started, since, according to them, they did not receive any advance notice about them. Moreover, according to the sign posted at the entrance to the street, the infrastructure works in Borochov were supposed to be finished a long time ago, so they assumed that they were already completed in July.

third time ice cream?

One of the residents told Lahi Pa, that recently workers came to the street again (for the third time!) and this without receiving a warning in advance in a reasonable amount of time. He further added that the residents were told that the work would last for about a month and a half, during which the sidewalks on the double side of the street would be renewed (exactly the same sidewalks on which the work was completed in July), after which the road would be paved again (it is not clear if it is the entire road - certainly when the previous times The road was dismantled and re-paved, this was done in the certain sections where the works were carried out).

"In aggregate, about half of the time in the last six months there is work here" says the resident. "Now the feeling is that these works are simply repeating themselves, and this is regardless of the fact that they were not announced long enough in advance. They were announced only a very short time before they started working (about a week), and this is very inconsiderate because many of the residents of the street rent the apartments and it can be assumed that at least some of them were chooses not to live here, if they knew that such a long time of their rental period would be spent working on the street, especially when the feeling is that it never ends and you repeat it over and over again," he says and continues: "It's quite strange that such jobs, which last so long , appear as if out of nowhere and at such short notice, it raises questions."

"What interest does it serve?" He wonders and asks: "Why are the streets blocked again and again? Is there a justifiable reason for this? Is this the reason that property tax and water rates continue to rise all the time? Because of a wasteful and incorrect use of resources? I really ask myself if the budget could not be cut by a third which is currently used to maintain the infrastructure and to direct this money to more necessary places," he says.

"I tried to find out a little, to get answers from the municipality, but I got the feeling that they don't really want to provide answers, but just throw responsibility from place to place. In the end I was left without answers."

Haifa Municipality gave a response to Haifa:
"The municipality of Haifa is carrying out a comprehensive move on Borochov Street to restore the sidewalks and the road along the street. In one of the sections, the municipality had to stop its work temporarily due to the location of an oil infrastructure line passing through the place. In the last few days, the municipality received permission to continue the work and it will be completed within the next two weeks."

It is simply hard to believe that such a revolutionary discovery was hidden from the public.
It's only strange that the oil that was discovered is refined - truly the miracle of the oil can - but this is Hanukkah.

  6. The first time, there was a mistake in the engineering plan. The second time, they opened because they forgot if they had bought the engineering plan. The third time, after they counted the workers, it turned out that one worker had disappeared. They opened, but they didn't find him. Hey Haifa Municipality. You are working in the format of 1948. Friends. We are in 2023.

  7. All the works on Borochov Street right in front of the synagogue. A neighborhood that is getting worse and worse. A narrow street, constantly under renovation, no road, no sidewalks, barriers to prevent parking, and of course no pedestrian crossing... In short, all they want is to close the street to traffic and certainly to car traffic. What is unclear here?

  8. Remains of the corrupt in Haifa.
This corrupt municipality needs to be replaced.

  9. poor man This is what you dirty, probably like this all your life. A wretch says so. I initially worked for small amounts but the main thing is to work and not accept donations and live from that. Whoever reacts like this hates everything around him. What a harmful person you are. It is what you are. You managed to upset me at high levels. I have never responded to such a response, you probably deserve it. How do your friends tell you who will move you!

  11. Haya in the movie A.A. Haifa.. still corrupt... 40 years in the municipality ate a cake and quietly said thank you because the salary is knocking.. good intentions but not voluntary.. gossipers.. sometimes a person does not understand how harmful he is

  12. Ilan Bornstein, what you wrote is really terrible. Because of people like you, look where we have come. Look how the city looks completely destroyed. How did people get dirty about the municipality's employees? who do not work and just walk around the streets and their demand for the dismissal of the many workers in the municipality. Einat Kalish was chosen. She really cut all the departments. The place turned into an unpleasant place. Because the workers felt uncomfortable because they were being followed. I worked in the municipality for almost 40 years. The employees were very diligent and gave hours that did not receive a contribution. The atmosphere was pleasant. Proof that people have invested Haifa municipality was awarded as the best city and many departments received certificates of excellence from the local Dalton and were highly appreciated. Everyone got paid. Where I worked, residents would come with many questions and help. And they thanked us very much for the great support for them. And today many workers have left the workplace that has become unpleasant. And those who remain feel exhausted. So what did you do, you hurt! What was a place of success you destroyed!

  13. The one we do every few months the street. This is called negligence. The municipality employs managers who probably approve decisions without realizing that the same correction that was made will be made again. And of course it is called a waste of public money, since it is necessary to investigate why the repair on Borchov Street is being repeated. The repair costs a fortune. It is possible that the same company won twice, possibly on purpose. And there is a situation where the company repaired the road for the first time. Probably an unsuccessful repair. It seems that explosions were discovered on the road and they were required to repair the explosions.

  14. Dear Haifa, you spoke well, you explained well. But, in a gentle and caressing language. In practice, the situation here in Haifa is much worse and has reached an unprecedented low. The corruption destroys the whole city and creates a terrible catastrophe. Haifa is rushing to a zero-level quality of life, without transportation solutions, with new apartments at an extremely poor standard of living. The opposite of green construction, total dependence on the use of a private vehicle, waste of energy and resources and destruction of the environment. The construction eviction projects invite an unbelievable catastrophe for us, there are friends who are going to make a lot of money there, while totally destroying the quality of life in Haifa, establishing slums without infrastructure and while creating an unacceptable shortage of public spaces.

  15. At the time, the President's Square was being renovated. Open the sidewalks together on both sides. The square was built 3 times. They made a wall there. Destroy it and build again at the same height only with a different type of stone. That's right. The matter is documented with me. In the road department they explained something to me about the 'standards' of the Ministry of Transport. It is very clear that this city has been rotten from the ground up for several decades. No planning, no maintenance, severe neglect in most corners of the city. All the open spaces are full of scrap, construction debris and dirt. Literally everyone, including the wadis. Just terribly sad. But understand... there are heads of departments and families here who have been making a great living from this dream for 30 years or so. These are hundreds of people who sit in key positions, some of them in the private sector that serves the municipality and they actually control the city, not the mayor. They will never stop oiling each other, never. Everything is kosher, competent and happy among them under the auspices of the authority given by the employees of the public sector. And forget about the state auditor or the government. Nobody cares. The municipality of Haifa is a vacuumed and rotting municipality to the bone. Not exactly classic corruption, but deliberate inefficiency and procrastination in state disguise, because there are a lot of profiteers. Doing a minimum of 7 times with maximum resources. Maybe in another 30 years something will change here. Maybe. I highly doubt it. In my opinion, Haifa is already lost and on its way to becoming one huge, filthy, congested and ugly block of concrete without an iota of nature and character. Another 30 years.

  16. This is an expanding ultra-Orthodox settlement in Neve Shanan, which receives huge budgets from the Ministry of Housing and the corrupt government that was established here, so of course the money serves the infrastructure and dirt contractors....at the expense of the donkeys that serve them in Canaan....go out immediately to the streets and burn this neighborhood down!!!¡

  17. The municipality does not know what infrastructures are placed under the roads and sidewalks?
Who is a factory there at work?
Where is the city engineer's office?
Who is the main beneficiary of all these double jobs?
A municipality that a kiosk is unable to manage!

  18. There are jobs without checking what infrastructure goes under.. that's how it is when the municipality is designated by the Ministry of the Interior as the worst in human capital development
And the costs are of course "on us"

  19. In my opinion, the article smells of corruption! Poor people in Israel must leave the country because of money theft!

  20. The phrase in its origin is: "3rd time I scream" and not "3rs time ice cream" - for "XNUMXrd time ice cream".

  21. There is a contractor who really enjoys $ build…$ tear down…$ build…$ tear down…$ build…$
