Violence in Haifa • The passenger beat the inspector after refusing to pay

(haipo) - Serious assault on a public transport employee in Haifa - a passenger who refused to pay hit the inspector.

An inspector at a bus in Haifa operated by the Superbus company was attacked yesterday (Monday 27/11/23) near the Paz Bridge in the city. The inspector got on line 5 in the Hadar neighborhood and asked to see a validation certificate from one of the passengers. The passenger refused to pay and the inspector ordered a car as required. The passenger responded He cursed the inspector and at the end of his work on the line got off the matron and with him the passenger who punched him and then fled. A complaint was filed with the Haifa Police.

The Union of Transport Committees: "These difficult days, in which public transport is an important artery in the stability of Israeli society, are an opportunity for the Ministry of Transport to right an injustice and recognize the public transport workers as public servants."

R., the inspector who was attacked:

We are already used to curses, mainly on a racial background as Arabs and learn to keep quiet. In the two weeks of the war, the curses intensified and we continue to do our work. It seemed that we had already established a routine and things had stabilized, but attacking us with violence is crossing a line. It cannot be that our work is life-threatening work."

Itai Cohen, head of the transportation branch for employees:
"We are all going through difficult times, but the violence on buses is a custom. We call on the Ministry of Transportation to wake up. In the already tense atmosphere, a call is needed to calm the spirits in public transportation. It is even more important to realize the funding promised to protect the workers and of course - to finally recognize the public transportation workers, the first to mobilize and jumpstart Reservists and evacuees, as public servants. We will not compromise on that, it is about the future of public transportation in Israel."

  1. Unfortunately, the inspector is not always right and here's the story - a week ago I traveled from Zichron Ya'akov to Haifa in the evening - I validated the ticket and at the station before the end in Haifa 4 inspectors got on together and decided to give a report because I didn't know the price of the trip and neither did the driver - the whole story that I'm 71 years old didn't help me Should know how much and how to update the machine that was next to the driver in the dark - so we don't always take care of the inspectors for nothing - that they learn not to say it's just my job and not my fault

  2. Eti, describe to you a situation where a person either stole your card or found it. He uses your card for free. . An inspector is a guard and checks everything. That it passes properly. He is right. But because he thought it wasn't right. Taking advantage of a card that seems like it really should be polite. And most of us Israelis do not have good manners. Patience from all of us!

  3. Rafi Raphael Hasson "senior journalist". I quote "bad act", whose passenger's or the inspector's? All the best for your responses, we expect more in-depth responses from you as a senior reporter who serves as a chat bot for the Haifa News Corporation.

  4. Sometimes the inspectors really invite resentment. No violence! Just contempt.
I am 84 years old and travel free. Since I am being helped, I asked one of the passengers to transfer the "Rav Ko" card.
An inspector came up to check and it turned out that the card didn't go through. shouted at me I tried to explain but he didn't listen.
Despite my age Eli behaved rudely and wrote a report. Other passengers intervened and shouted at them.
I made it clear in advance that I do not intend to pay the fine and want to go to court.
I wrote to Superboss and happily they were reasonable and canceled the report without going to court.

  5. Reflects the mood in Israeli society at the moment: a racist government, complicit media and social networks are full of posts that would not embarrass the dark regimes in history... Aalek with a chosen people.

  6. The matron is a terrible failure.
Only one line through the lanes, crowded, slow and annoying
She drove away masses of passengers of the IDF to buy a private car.
and endangers pedestrians when crossing busy roads to midway stations.

  7. At the time in the 70's an inspector came up and went through and checked travel tickets - today 4 inspectors come up like a real commando and terrorize the passengers and even abuse the passengers.
A real waste of money on unnecessary jobs!!!!!

  8. Another low-class type, according to the clothing and the hat, it's very easy to recognize the goddess who is looking for provocation, it's winter, an Adidas or Nike hat is more likely to pose at the moment. Hope the scoundrels are caught and thrown behind bars.

  9. Your inspectors are bad, they can humiliate a person in front of the whole bus or the matron, they are looking to knock up reports and bring money to Egged, Superbus, the municipality or whoever employs them. Sometimes about 4 inspectors go up at a time, as if they are not scattered in the shift. Especially in certain areas such as the Paz Bridge, even on Saturdays, they sometimes bother and check the passenger twice on the same trip, even though they saw right in front of their eyes that a check-in was going to take place, some of the devices don't work, well, I understand people who don't want to check-in when they spent a total of 90 minutes to the crossing where they can check-in, The whole rabbi line will end within a week. And most of your inspectors are sure that they are tired of seeing that too.

  10. The inspectors do a very bad job, get a job and think they are God. Miri Regev is guilty of everything. She gave them power and found people without brains.

  11. The conduct of the inspectors in public transportation should also be checked, so that there will be both covert and overt criticism that they perform their duties and do not exceed their defined authority.

    • to the rotten fruit
The inspectors at Matron are employees of the Superbus company.
But as usual, the reality, the facts and the truth, don't change the pompous privileges that demonstrate.

  12. Throwing the aggressor to rot in prison, it will already "calm the spirits".
As if it's not enough that he's a violent bastard, he's also a fucking racist. People like him not only destroy everything that is good in the country, think that they are above the law and everyone has to pay for them, they also damage the delicate balance that has been built in recent years in mixed cities like Haifa.
I hope that the inspector is well, and that they open a case against the violent passenger and make him pay dearly.

  13. I responded about the violence that is only increasing here, especially in the city of Haifa. Eyal said everything. Again I'll just point out that there is no personal security. We must take care of ourselves and make it harder and harder to ask every offender to pay a fine.

  14. what is happening to you I am connected to the Haifa Corporation, all the updates are coming. Something is happening with the communication between you two. You send every new update but you don't get my response!. What reference did you send me!

  15. Check your drivers and inspectors, sometimes they are violent, especially in Haifa, the inspectors, in my opinion, are the main source of income for the municipality, they are bad and liars, but who in Israel will believe a citizen

  16. Only a deep reform of our justice system
Anyone who knows that the punishment is immediate imprisonment until trial + up to 3 years in prison and a fine that he will serve for the rest of his life will think 50 times before he dares to be rude to the inspector. The disturbed know that the judges will immediately release them to house arrest and maybe close the case after the complaints.

  17. Finally someone did not give in to the threat that the inspectors spread. 4 inspectors appear who look like they have just been released from prison and come at children threatening that if they don't show up immediately then they will call the police and give them a fine as well. And all this when the child validated the ticket and was just standing at the door to get off the bus to school. And even on such difficult days, the inspectors do not relax, they come in droves, a feeling of complete insecurity! I'm not in favor of violence, but it's hard for me to show empathy for inspectors who do injustice to children every day.

  18. I am waiting to see an article about the behavior of the inspectors.
As a law-abiding citizen who makes sure to pay and attack, I feel threatened.
My daughter is traumatized and cries when she sees an inspector. My son is afraid to get on a bus alone.
