The Minister of Education, Yoav Kish, announced today (Mon. 30/10/23) a new schedule for the matriculation exams, in which the winter matriculation exams will be postponed to March 2024. As a result of this, the summer matriculation exams will be postponed by three weeks, to the end of May 2024.
Formed in coordination with the relevant organizations
The new outline was formulated in coordination with the Israel Defense Forces, the committee of heads of universities, the secondary teachers' organization, the national parents' leadership and the national student and youth council.
A series of concessions for all examinees
The minister also announced the granting of a series of concessions to all matriculation exam examinees, including the secondary examinees. The unique concessions for students evacuated from the conflict zones, who were evacuated from their homes by a government decision:
In addition to the concessions given to all students, students evacuated from the conflict zones in the south and north of the country (including Ashkelon, Kiryat Shmona, Metula, Rosh Hankara and Shlomi) will receive additional unique concessions:
- In subjects where the weight of the exam is 70% and the weight of the annual grade is 30%: the exam grade will change to 50% and the weight of the annual grade will be 50% of the final grade.
