City Center • The Dick Family's All-In-One Incarnation

The City Center building is located in the northern part of the German colony, at the intersection of Ben Gurion Boulevard and Jaffa Streets and its address is 6 Ben Gurion Boulevard. Dick's Department Store According to the 1882 map of the German colony, on the lot on which the City Center building was built, the large trading house of the Templar family Abram Duck was located. The Dick family was one of the wealthiest in the German colony and their residence - at 8 Ben Gurion Boulevard - was one of the largest and most luxurious in the colony. Later, their sons, who continued the family tradition, were among the largest merchants in Haifa. The family ran a kind of department store that sold a variety of products, from everyday products to agricultural machinery. Among its regular customers were also Jewish settlers from the northern colonies. Agronomist Aaron Aaronson from Zichron Yaakov worked for a time as an agent at Dick's trading house, before devoting himself to his scientific and political work. In a 1984 photograph of...

Haifa University suspended 4 students who expressed support for terrorism in the south

Haifa University suspended 4 students yesterday, who expressed support for Hamas activities in the south. The rector of the university, Prof. Gur Elroy, sent them a scathing letter in which it was written that in light of the students' statements on social networks and the support for the terrorist attack on the settlements surrounding Gaza and the murder of innocents, the students are suspended from their studies at the University of Haifa until the issue is investigated.

Yaniv Ben Shoshan, head of the Likud list in Haifa, told Haifa:

"All anti-Israeli students should be expelled from the university"

Yaniv Ben Shoshan, head of the Likud list in Haifa:

I strengthen the hands of the University of Haifa which is finally acting against the fifth brother-in-law living among us and in the university in particular. For years such students enjoy everything that the State of Israel offers: security, freedom of expression, higher education, social security and dare to spit at the well from which they drink. The academic education they acquire does not neutralize their nationalist ambitions and the education from a home that encourages them to murder Jews wherever they are Jews.
I call on the heads of the university to continue to find and remove all the anti-Israeli students who study there and not to stop at just four, there are dozens more such students in the university unfortunately.

University administration: The university expresses zero tolerance for students who express support for the murder of innocent Israeli citizens

In response, the university management stated that the University of Haifa has zero tolerance for students who express support for the terrorist attack on the communities surrounding Gaza and the murder of innocent Israeli citizens. "The suspension letters have already gone out to a handful of students who do not represent the general population."

  1. If the university has not filed a complaint with the police, at least they should publish their names and other details, including the relevant posts, so that someone else will file a complaint.
This is a security/criminal offense that should be handled by the police and not covered up within the university.
As of 2016, this is a crime punishable by up to three years in prison, and it is desirable that punishment be made more severe during wartime.

  2. Kudos to the Rector of the University for taking the requested step. It's time. This university has long been non-Jewish and democratic, but a mouthpiece and nest of Hamas. A hearing should be held for all the lecturers who wrote the shocking response letter. They are no less than collaborators of elements hostile to the Jewish and democratic state of Israel

  3. Incitement and support for murderers and terrorism is not freedom of speech, therefore we need a policy of zero tolerance for any person, without exception, whoever openly supports murder just because he belongs to another nation or nationality!
Likewise, expressions of anti-Semitism, hatred and racism that affect entire populations only because of the actions of individuals or gangs must not be tolerated!

  4. It is appropriate that the conduct of Haifa University be implemented in all universities in Israel. Encouraging monstrous acts by student residents of the country, directly turns them into a fallen hostile entity, which does not deserve any rights at all. It is unthinkable that in times of dire need, Hamas supporters would take advantage of freedom of expression, in the most devious way. Not only that they receive far-reaching privileges, when our soldiers are fighting and defending the country, and not even a word of protection will be found? gall! And it's our fault! Failure to condemn the heinous acts makes the supporters as monstrous as the perpetrators of the crime itself! You do not deserve to be in Kehal Israel and/or in poor educational institutions that advocate human values! shame! will not be forgiven!!

  5. All the best to the university. That's how it should be. Everywhere we remove the bad guys who will go to hell. We have no other country. We pray for the victory of dear Israel. The bad students have no place among us.

  6. Very Good! It should have been done a long time ago. Also at Tel Aviv University. May all supporters of Gaza and haters of Israel fly away. They don't have education anyway. Why invest in academic scholarships?

  7. For years the universities in Israel have been "accommodating" supporters of terrorism and those who oppose the existence of the State of Israel. All in the name of "academic freedom". They got used to being allowed.

  8. send them to Gaza. Without hesitation. They get everything from us. And they still go against us. So Gaza suits them

  9. Bring them to the kibbutz in Otef to spend time there
Under the spells and rockets without
    who wanted food and water

  10. Finally responding to these evil anti-Semites, great strength to the university administration for taking a stand on this important matter. Bad words become bad deeds...

  11. Very good and it should be made permanent not only regarding the massacre in the south, whoever supports or waves the Palestinian flag should wave it in Gaza
We will never forget student demonstrations with Palestinian flags at the university and no one did anything

  12. The time has come to stop giving them free academic studies and study assistance at the taxpayer's expense - without them enlisting in national service for their people, without any national commitment.

    • In my opinion, there is no need for them to be mobilized at all.
The State of Israel is supposed to be a state and an army of Jews and non-Jewish immigrants who have no national aspirations and we are all citizens of the country.
Arabs who will join the army in their countries.

  13. Just a handful? Four students against thousands of supporters of terrorism studying at the university? Let them go to Olive Beer.

  14. I didn't exactly understand what suspension from the university was. These are Israeli citizens who are traitors during wartime - the legal sentence: a speedy trial, and the death penalty. Those about whom there is doubt, permanent deportation to Gaza or Syria, according to his choice. A better name, and they will have no complaints. Wretched traitors to the country they live off of.

  15. They probably also received scholarships and free health insurance. Urge them to go to Gaza. Knock on their door, pack them a small bag and detain them at the border.

  16. University of Haifa?? What happened? You give a hand to slanderers in the name of freedom of speech and freedom of defamation. Beer Zeit we called you. What happened? Are you confused??

  17. University of Haifa, have you woken up?? Suddenly you are being eliminated. You never did this in the name of freedom of speech and freedom of defamation. We called you Bir Zeit University. Did you answer? Happy New Year.

  18. They should be eliminated and not just suspended, this should be the policy!!! Zero forgiveness!!!!

  19. Well done! All the best to the Rector.
Finally a suitable reference to Israel haters

  20. Well done
Keep it up and eradicate the tolerance for hate.
    and not return them.
