(live here in the sea) - Haifa's Ofek Shelgi is participating in the World Cup that started this morning, Saturday, 23/9/23, in Dakhla, Morocco. This is the 4th stop of the Kite Strapless World Tour (kitesurfing in waves without straps).
Shelgi is not a professional competitor and does not meet the threshold conditions of the competition, but he submitted a special request and managed to win a wild card, this means that he will get to compete against the professionals in the world tour, even though he does not meet the threshold conditions.
Surfing in Dakhla is in the high waves of the Atlantic Ocean. The wind is northerly at a speed of 15-20 knots (wind from right to left).
We will follow Ofek on his journey and wish him success and a little luck won't hurt against the heavy guns in the world tour.
