At the pensioners' lobby, which is competing for a seat on the city council in the upcoming elections, they were surprised to find out that the Atos company offers senior citizens who purchase cinema tickets for the film festival, a small discount of only 6 NIS from the full ticket.

The lobby received many complaints from the area, many retirees expressed fear that they would not be able to take part in the international film festival, and the retirees' lobby did not wait even one day and immediately contacted Mayor Einat Kalish and the festival management demanding a significant increase in the amount of the discount.
Finney Wegman makes a firm appeal to Mayor Einat Kalish and to the management of Athos
Pini Wegman, who is in second place on the list of the lobby for the city council, addressed in a resolute letter to the mayor Einat Kalish and the management of Athos, to the CEO Yigal Zaevi and to the chairman of the board Yaakov Feingold.
In the letter, Wegman mentions that the senior citizens of the city are cultural consumers throughout the whole year, and they deserve, certainly at a subsidized city event, to benefit from a discount of at least 50% from the full ticket price. Wegman also points out that the price of a ticket at the cinema is much cheaper than the price of a ticket at the festival, and that there the percentage of the discount for senior citizens is many times higher than the one given to them on tickets to the film festival.
Totally agree. A discount of NIS 6 for a movie that costs over NIS 40 is really a joke. This has been the case over the years at the Lipa Festival and it needs to change.
