Parking at Haifa Port • Cruise companies that are included in the arrangement and those that are not

(haipo) - Sailors arriving at the port of Haifa for a Mano Shipping cruise discover that the new sailors' parking lot that was inaugurated last July was not included in the arrangement with the company.


As a reminder, last July a new parking lot was opened at Haifa port for those going on cruises, which includes baggage collection and transportation to the cruise terminal and is also accessible to the disabled. The cost of long-term parking - NIS 40 per day or part of it. The first half hour in the parking lot is free of charge for those arriving by private car or organized transportation and interested in luggage delivery and arrival to the terminal.

The Haifa system received several complaints from sailors who arrived at the port of Haifa in order to sail on one of the Mano shipping cruises. But when they arrived at the port and especially at the new parking lot for sailors, they discovered that sailors with a shipping list cannot use the parking lot and park there. Although today there are many who prefer to use public transportation, there are still those who like to arrive in their own vehicle, park, travel and return independently, and not rely on public transportation.

A passenger from the central region told Lahi Pa: "On the weekend, we arrived in our private car to go on the "Mano" cruise, and we planned to park the car in the parking lot of the port that we read had recently opened, but when we arrived we found out that the parking lot is not intended for sailors with the Mano company, because there is no arrangement between the port and the company. We had a hard time finding parking and it kind of ruined our trip."

The shipping companies that have a parking arrangement with Haifa port are MSC and ROYAL CARIBBEAN. 

The port of Haifa said in response:
"We are working in cooperation with Manu to make this possible as soon as possible."

"It is expected that the service will be provided to all companies"

The Mano Shipping company said in response:
"Mano Shipping Company takes care of the fast and good reception of its passengers. Most of the passengers arrive by public transportation, including Israel Railways, and get off at the Hasmona station, which is next to the entrance to the port. Passengers who arrive by private vehicle, and they are few, have parking solutions next to the port. The use of the parking lot in the port is not related to the shipping companies This is a service that is expected to be received from Haifa Port for the sailors from all the companies that frequent it."
