(haipo) - The Milav Association and the Authority for Immigrant Absorption in Haifa filed an administrative lawsuit against the Haifa Municipality and its head, Einat Kalish Rotem.
The MILB association and its head - city council member Eli Landau as well as the Authority for the Reception of Aliyah in Haifa and its head - city council member Lazar Kaplon, submitted, each separately, through the lawyers Yoni Shalio-Riva, Roni Tripa and Oren Katz from the office of Yosef Yeshuron & Co. Lawyers, an administrative lawsuit against the Municipality of Haifa and Mayor Einat Kalish Rotem, for what they claim is "deliberate obstruction and failure to transfer budgets to non-profit organizations in accordance with the municipality's budget and the decision of the City Council".
Both lawsuits were submitted to the district court on Saturday as a court for administrative matters. The president of the Haifa District Court, Ron Shapira, stated that in light of their similar subject matter, the two petitions will be consolidated in the preliminary hearing, scheduled for 22/10/23.
This is a huge opening for corruption.
I see it as wrong that a council member who should be trusted with the balanced distribution of budgets to all municipal bodies, heads an association that is actually a 'hand in its council' demanding that budgets be transferred to it and, of course, by virtue of this also appoints its operatives and people to it.
It is completely wrong that Zer Kaplon is the head of the association "Immigration Absorption Authority" - and also runs in a faction that targets immigrants later.
It is completely wrong that Eli Landau is the head of the association "Milav Retirees" - and also ran in the Retirees faction afterwards.
This is a huge opening for corruption.
Eli Landau is a decent person without prejudice to the other petitioner.
