Among 4 births of triplets in Rambam, the two best friends gave birth to triplets one after the other
Triplets are a special phenomenon, but when there are four of them in the same hospital, it's already really amazing. A large concentration of triplets was recently counted in Rambam and brought everyone there to remember why this is a particularly magical number.
Not one, not two, not three - four triplets were born in Rambam in the last few weeks, two of them to two good friends, who live next to each other in the city of Tamra in the north of the country. The two gave birth to their first children two weeks apart.
The first to give birth among the members was Sivar Diab-Hijazi, 29, who gave birth to three sons in the 34th week of her pregnancy. After a two-week stay in the maternity hospital, the trio was recently released to their home.
"Ten line up right away"
"We waited so long for them," says Muhammad Hijazi, the father of the triplets, "It was a long and difficult journey, which also included terminating the pregnancy of the triplets, which we had a little over a year ago and it got complicated. They are a little miracle. We worked hard for them and we are so We're happy that they're here. Everyone wants to help," he adds, "If you need something - ten immediately show up. Dealing with children for the first time, it's not easy. Three together, it's even more complex, but we learned everything in preschool and continued it at home."
About two weeks ago, Diab's best friend - Hijazi, Najah Diab, 27, who also lives in the city of Tamra, joined the special status 'mother of triplets'. Diab gave birth to two sons and a daughter in the 33.4 week of her pregnancy, and after staying for about three weeks in preterm labor, a few days ago they also went home.
"tears of happiness"
For Diab and her partner, this is a happy ending to a long journey they experienced on the way to parenting for the first time: "We fought to bring the children into the world. After many years, finding out we were pregnant with triplets was one of the most exciting moments in my life. I remember the first heartbeat. I couldn't believe it. I cried from happiness . There were tears of happiness at the birth as well. An amazing closing of the circle. We are waiting to start our life as a family of five."
"Maybe we'll start a party"
So what is it like to be good friends, new mothers of triplets, living in close proximity?
"Sivar is the oldest of the two of us," Diab jokes, "she already has tips on what happens after you leave the hospital. A drop of milk, getting organized at home. She's already making progress. I'm still at an earlier stage, so I have tips on promotions for diapers, an agenda of Prematurity and things like that. We consult all the time. It will be interesting to see them grow up together, in the same city, the same unusual situation, the same age. Maybe we'll start a party," she laughs.
Mathematics for advanced students: how do you keep one mother and three fetuses?
As mentioned, four triplets were born in the last few weeks at Rambam, all in relatively advanced weeks for complex pregnancies such as those that develop in such cases. At one point, all the mothers of the triplets were together in the high-risk pregnancy ward, when they are being kept pregnant and closely monitored for the birth.
An unusual figure
This high concentration of triplets is joined by two more triplets born in the last period in Rambam: "This is an unusual figure, even at a time when we are seeing more and more twins and triplets," explains Prof. Zev Viner, director of Rambam's pregnancy and childbirth department. implied by such complex pregnancies. These pregnancies are completely different from those of a single fetus, with very specific characteristics. The fact that all of them gave birth at advanced weeks testifies to the skilled staff that took care of them all along the way."
From an only child to a brother to three
Suhad Badran, 34 years old from Kfar Bena in the north, is also a new mother to triplets recently born in Rambam. She and her husband Ahmed had two daughters and a son at 33.5 weeks, when the couple had another eight-year-old son, who instantly became a big brother to the three.
Badran's birth was one of the first in the wave of triplets, and took place after two months of hospitalization in the high-risk pregnancy unit of the medical center. Just like the other mothers, the significant period of time she spent in the ward contributed to the termination of the pregnancy with the birth of three healthy babies.
Waiting for years
The stay in prematurity gave them the time they needed to draw a line between what was before the birth and the new reality. "We've been waiting for this for years," says the happy father, "we've already managed to forget about the first time. It's lucky that we had a period of prematurity and were given tools and confidence. My mother looks at me changing diapers and is satisfied with me, she says that I was taught here excellently what to do," he laughs. "Until now we can't believe we have three sweet babies. We go with them for a drop of milk and everyone looks at us. We feel different with them, they are special. When they grow up a little we will go back to the ward and the premature baby, to thank them for everything they did for us and for the great gift they gave us ".
