Dark streets • For over a month, the Haifa municipality has not fixed the lighting

(haipo) - For over a month now, the lantern that is supposed to illuminate the alley connecting Horev Street to Hantaka has been malfunctioning and off. The residents' calls to the municipal hotline were of no use.

Residents complain that the alley connecting Horev Street and Hantaka Street in Haifa has been dark for over a month, making it difficult for passers-by to pass in the evening. The residents contacted the municipal hotline 106 several times, but despite listening, the hazard was not dealt with and the situation is still the same.

Map - the dark alley between Netka and Horev

Mickey Panks, a resident of the city tells Lehi here:

"This malfunction of the flashlight has been going on for over a month. I contacted the municipality more than once in addition to others and even spoke to the director of the lighting department who sounds very attentive and caring to me, but nothing has moved.

This is a crossroad that connects Horev Street to Hantaka Street, and many pass through there instead of making a turn or crossing the center of Horev. Especially recently on Saturdays when there are demonstrations so they prefer to go through there instead of crossing the center of Horeb. It's been over a month and the flashlight is burnt out and off and it's dangerous because there are stairs and it's hard to see them in the dark. I hope that the municipality will take care of the problem as soon as possible. This is the minimum that the municipality can provide as a service to a resident of proper and working lighting."

Following Hai's appeal here, the matter was dealt with.

Today, Sunday 6/8/23, we received from the Haifa Municipality: "The street lights on the path connecting Hantaka and Horev were taken care of and connected by the Electric Company to the electric network. In this framework, the headlight to which the question refers was also repaired."

  1. Unfortunately, Hantaka Street is plagued by many hazards: they are digging all along it to replace the water pipes, so many parking spaces were blocked and neutralized, the sidewalks are always crooked, and now fences and barriers have been added that greatly reduce the possibility of walking safely on the dirty sidewalks due to the aforementioned works and due to uncollected dog feces by the owners of the dogs, and in general why send a team of street cleaners, it will take a long time until the works are finished.
In the meantime, the residents who pay a very high property tax will continue to suffer from municipal dysfunction, in addition to the noise of the excavations, the suffocating dust, many pieces of black and polluting plastic, wild and untrimmed vegetation and more of all this "good" that unfolds on the "prestigious" Netka Street.
    How long????

  2. In Haifa, not even a single flashlight illuminates the horizon of complete darkness.

  3. Municipality of Harfa.
In no city in Israel is there such a thing as residents walking in the dark for a year, tens of inquiries and the municipality ignores them and the spokesperson of the municipality receives a senior salary of tens of thousands of shekels to give two words 'no response'
First, with a lack of budget for lighting, fire the speaker department and Eliran Tal, the speaker who is removed like a parrot saying 'no response' to every face.
This is our money - the highest income in Israel Kivinimet!!!
There is a limit to contempt - why isn't there a demonstration against the Haifa municipality, I'm sure there will be more from Lakplan. 300 people suffer from Harfa municipality.

  4. Scared really like a dark street...adults can fall and then they will only be found in the morning. If it was like that in my shower...then it stops until the next day...doesn't make sense.

  5. The deputy mayor - Tzuk - said in an interview with Haifa news that Haifa is in an amazing condition and that the residents of Haifa love Kalisz. He claims that the polls showing a defeat for Kalish in the elections are a bluff.... The man probably lives on the moon...

    • Inside the crosswalk on Hanasi St. corner Derech Hayam, a huge sign was placed indicating that there is a synagogue on Derech Hayam St. and prayer times.
I was amazed to know that there is someone in the municipality who allows hanging signs at the crosswalk!!!!!!
At the crosswalk, wait for a green light to cross safely and not to draw the attention of the crossers to other things.
The sign must be removed immediately!!!!!
There are no such things anywhere!!!!!!!!

  6. Tired of hearing comments that are not true. Those who go against the municipal employees constantly. FYI. When Klish was elected mayor of the city, she was required to clean out "redundant workers" departments
As you know, the claim is not true. The workers are required according to standards. It is only because of people like you and me that we chose Klish because we listened to the voices against Yona Yahav. One of them said that redundant workers must be fired. So for your information; As soon as Klish was elected, she did implement the request and fired many employees in all departments. Therefore do not complain against the performance of the employees. . The public does not receive service just because of the cuts in personnel. I know that there is a lack of welfare workers. The Ministry of Welfare claims that there is difficulty in hiring workers, social workers and street gang workers. Youth in need.
That is why those who suffer today are helpless
Old people, poor people who deserve mental support and nursing help. Shame on you. Because during the Corona period there were many who were found dead in their homes after being found dead and some of them were found in the state of a rotting corpse. terrible. I know that Klish was approached by department managers regarding a lack of manpower and a serious demand for them, especially for youth in need, there is an increase in the demand for youth in need. You demanded that she clean departments of "unnecessary employees" but she took care of herself a consulting manager who would be close to her to help with business consulting. His salary increased a huge fortune. For that you did not come out against her behavior that took care of herself and was also responsible for the destruction of the municipality. Today social workers are really not enthusiastic about working in the municipality and that's how they work others because the atmosphere in the municipality is very unpleasant. I wanted to point out that the municipality of Haifa has received certificates of excellence all these years.
    And today we are not!
    .

  7. Elderly people crushed their bodies in Kiryat Haim near the car tracks. The whole neighborhood is bare, full of trees, branches, snakes, scorpions. I personally contacted thousands and even an electricity company. A poor municipality, Kiryat Haim is like a mole for her, but the property tax is more than Dania. What I write is criminal, but I would suggest to all the residents of Kiryat Haim to file a representative civil lawsuit and stop paying property tax in a rash manner!

  8. We also contacted Moked 106 due to lighting problems - and we were also completely ignored!!!!! on the cave path street

  9. Also in Carmelia, all the staircases between the streets have lanterns that do not work or are completely obscured by vegetation and trees that are not trimmed

  10. Also in Carmelia, on all the staircases between the streets, there are lanterns that miraculously work or are completely obscured by vegetation and trees that are not pruned

  11. There are duties and there are rights.
You do not receive service from the municipality,
    a hazard that endangers you,
    Don't pay property tax!!!!
The mayor of Haifa cares more about the peace of the pigs than the peace of the residents.
This is the reality dear friends.
It's time for you to internalize…

  12. No street lights? No garbage disposal? No street tiot? So no property tax payment!

People who still have standing orders or authorizations to debit a bank account should cancel them immediately and pay the bi-monthly property tax according to the proceeds from the municipality.
If this is how everyone behaves, they will have no choice but to function fully, or settle for a reduced budget.

    • Who do you think we're dealing with here?
If there is one thing that Haifa Municipality will never compromise on, it is collecting money, whether by force or not.

  13. I have forwarded your article, Samer Odeh Karantinji, to the Transportation Department of Haifa Municipality for processing. Have a good week

  14. The month of May is upon us Yarmukh Street has been darkened for more than a year and a half in the small numbers

  15. A dark municipality does not see fit to light the way for the city's residents.
Cliche, do you have plans for perhaps holistic lighting in Haifa's alleys?

  16. All city inquiries should be documented and in the event of an accident, there is an excellent cause of action

  17. At 41 Rabbi Ohana Street, when you go down the stairs to the synagogue for Syrian and Lebanese immigrants, there is a light pole that has been off for months and no one cares, in the dark you can't see the stairs and an adult could fall

  18. is funny. There are dozens of places in Haifa where street lights are turned off and not replaced for months and months!! Excess manpower in jobs that are not needed and a shortage of people with an applied role. The same with cleaning and the same with Carmel water. A lot of people work in the collection departments. ha ha

    • Tired of hearing comments that are not true
How many people are coming out against the city employees these days. FYI. A cliché came in to clean up workers "creating the Makhharu".
"That claim is not true. Because workers are required according to required standards. It is only because of people like you that they chose Kelish because we listened to the voices that must fire workers because they are redundant. So, for your information, Kelish did approve the request and fired many workers from the owner of the departments. Therefore, don't complain, you I don't make it easy just because of the cuts, I know a rabbi in the welfare ministry, many workers Port, welfare workers, social workers, street gangs
Therefore those who suffer are helpless
Old people and the poor of the people who deserve our support
be ashamed Because during the New Corona period, many were found dead at home after they were found dead and some of them were in a terrible state of decay. I know that they resorted to a cliché regarding the lack of seriousness of youth in distress, there is an increase in distressed youth. You asked her to clean up deletions from "unnecessary" employees, but she took care of herself for a business consulting manager. His salary went up a lot and you didn't come out against her behavior, which is only a lot on the part of the municipality and today social workers are really not enthusiastic about working in the municipality and so are other workers because the atmosphere in the municipality is very unpleasant. I wanted to mention my tenants. Haifa all these years received outstanding awards and the municipality also won an outstanding award and today we don't!
