On Tuesday, 25/7/23, the final event of the Mayor's Cup in soccer, which is the culmination of the tournament that takes place every year, was held on the grounds of the Carmel Castle Community Center. The event commemorates the memory of the former soccer player of Hapoel Haifa, the late David Gavison . Gabison's family members attended the game, as they do every year.
About the tournament
The Mayor's Cup tournament has been held in Carmel Castle for over 20 years, produced by the sports department of the community center and the urban sports coordinator, Eli Korkos. The teams competing in it are made up of local players, who compete for the Carmel Castle Mayor's Cup.

In the final, which took place in the presence of the mayor, Aryeh Tal and his deputy, David Shahar. Aryeh Tal was honored to kick the opening kick of the final game.
In the final game, the "Agalacticos" team overcame the "Jewelry Bar" team. The 200 spectators who came enjoyed a community sports experience, a juggling show by the ball bounce champion Eyal Horn; from the music of Nathaniel Batch; as well as from an exhibition match between the Carmel Castle veterans' team and the Hapoel Haifa boys' team, and from another match held in memory of the city's resident footballer, the late Kobi Hanukah, who passed away last month.

At the end of the game, there was a ceremony to award the trophy to the winning team and the medals to the players of the two teams who qualified for the final. It should be noted that the "Agalacticos" group also won a cash prize of NIS 5,000.
