The maintenance manager of the Beit Biram Reali school Efi Efrati passed away yesterday (Thursday 29.06.23) and he was only 54 years old. Efrati died unexpectedly of cardiac arrest.
Efrati's funeral will take place today (Friday 30.06.23) in Tel Regev at 13:30 p.m.
Efi grew up in Kiryat Bialik and after his studies at Ort Kiryat Bialik, majoring in mechanical engineering, he enlisted in the Air Force, in the technical wing. He finished his regular service as head of a training team and commander of a helicopter technician course. The sense of mission and the love of the country led Efi to continue a long and meaningful permanent service, in which he held dozens of command and training positions. After twenty-three years on a permanent basis, he finished his service as director of the central control headquarters of the Air Force Technical School in Haifa. During his years in permanent employment, Efi completed a teaching certificate, a bachelor's degree in political science and a master's degree in education system management.
Mandi Rabinowitz, director of Beit Biram, paid tribute to Afarti:
Effie was the face of Beit Biram and the heart of the campus. He embodied in his conquering personality all the good and beautiful that is Israeliness and above all the endless giving, he always explained why, his huge heart stopped tonight and left us all shocked because really, there are no more people like this man, every home in Biram bows its head and cries this evening.
Maharieli told Hai Pa News Corporation:
"Efi was an extraordinary educational and administrative figure and one of the pillars of the school in recent years. As soon as he was released from permanent residence, Efi decided to look for another avenue in which he could continue to contribute to Israeli society. Efi chose to give his broad shoulder to the stretcher of education in Israel and to lend his rich experience and many skills and joined the Beit branch Biram of the Reali Hebrew School in Haifa, as the maintenance manager of Beit Biram. As soon as he took office, Efi brought a new spirit full of desire for meaningful action, to benefit the audience of teachers and students and to consolidate the team of maintenance personnel into a high-quality, welcoming team, which makes its job sacred for the success of the educational act. Efi led his team gently and kindly, with calmness and constant action that put the person at the center. Under Effie's management, no teacher, student, staff member or parent heard the word "no" to any wish, request or dream. Quietly and modestly, without publicizing it publicly, and out of genuine concern for the youth's safety, Efi was in charge of the parents' patrol in the evenings in Kiryat Motzkin, his city of residence.
Last night, as he has done so many times and for so many friends, Efi showed up at his friend's house to help with home repairs. During the repair he felt ill, experienced a cardiac arrest and the medical teams that arrived had no choice but to determine his death. Efi was 54 years old when he died and left behind a wife, a daughter and two sons. The family of the Real School grieves the huge loss and hugs his family. Of blessed memory".
Deputy Mayor Kiryat Motzkin Adi Sternberg paid tribute to Efrati:
"The bitter news about the untimely passing of the city's resident, the late Efi Efrati, shocked us all. The late Efrati, 54, an athlete, was a social activist who contributed a lot to the community and previously served as the coordinator of a parent patrol in Kiryat Motzkin. I share in the grief of his wife, Roytel and their children, family and relatives and send my sincere condolences. May his memory be blessed. Mayor Haim Tzuri, found abroad, and sends his condolences and a hug to the family."
A real tragedy for the family and not those who know.
